They Reject You (hyung line)- part three
Pairing: BTS x Reader
Word Count: 8K
Warnings: swear words here and there, a little kissing scene.
Jin
"I told you, you should have done this sooner."
"Hey, if I had known this was gonna be this much fun, I would have."
"I did tell you, you just didn't believe me."
You huff. "Okay fine! You were right all along and I was wrong. Happy?"
Blair chugs down another shot and winces at the bitter taste. "I'll be happy when you listen to my advice."
"Asking for too much, now. Aren't you?"
"Cool then, mop over a boy for over a month again. Why don't you?" She retorts with no real bite, rather genuinely enjoying the glimpse of the old you back.
A wave of sadness hits you when you're reminded about the said boy and you sigh. "He isn't just a boy, he's also my best friend."
Blair immediately regrets her words when she notices the look on your face. "I understand that you would need time but if I hadn't dragged you out today, you would have not made any efforts to move on for at least another six months."
You feel an instant urge to deny it but end up not protesting because you know how true her words are.
Moving on would have been easier if you knew the answer to this one question; how does one move on from their best friend?
How do you forget the moments that made you fall for him? Moments when he was the only one you could confide in. When you two would spend hours talking on the phone about random things. When the two of you would sit on the balcony and judge every passerby. The inside jokes, the tears, the hugs, the words of comfort. How do you forget those and tell yourself to not feel the way you do?
And even if you manage to do so, will the two of you really ever get back to being as close as you once were? Won't that result in you falling for him all over again?
You take hold of another glass of shot when you realise that you were overthinking again. Today your plan is to get enough alcohol in your system so that you do not overthink the little things.
"What is he doing here?" Blair whispers to herself.
"Who?" Your tipsy mind gets distracted by that and you start checking left and right to catch sight of the person she's talking about.
"Jin."
Your eyes widen in shock and you freeze in your seat. "Jin is here?"
Blair nods, feeling the same amount of disbelief as you.
"Should I hide in the washroom?" You whisper shout. You don't even know why you feel the need to run when you and Jin have had a civil conversation just a few weeks ago. All you know is that you do not wish to face Jin. You are not ready to face the stir of emotions Jin would inevitably ignite.
"Fun fact, his eyes are fixed here," she quips with a mix of annoyance and amusement. "I'm also pretty sure, he's aware that we are talking about him."
You shut your eyes and groan audibly. "Fuck. Just what I needed."
"Fun fact part two, he's coming here."
As soon as she completes her sentence, you hear your name being called.
"Y/N."
"Jin!" You put on a fake smile and try to seem as excited as you possibly can. You won't allow your spirits to dwindle so easily. "What are you doing here?"
Jin thinks for a brief moment if he should lie and say that it was a coincidence but then decides otherwise. "Well, Jimin texted me that you're here and I had something important to tell you, so,"
"Well, I don't feel stalked at all." You grin sarcastically.
Jin smiles. That's the first stage of you getting drunk; getting sassy. "Well, I'd be hurt if you were to call me a creepy stalker."
He says it with such a soft look of adoration that Blair has to clear her throat loudly to announce her presence.
"I'm Blair," she introduces herself.
Jin understands that Blair's words are directed at him and he politely puts his hand forward in greeting. "I'm Jin."
Blair nods and shakes his hand. From the look in his eyes, she already has an idea about why Jin might be here and if what she's assuming is right, she should really get out of here as quickly as she can.
"Well, it's good that you are here, I have somewhere to go. Take care of her," as soon as the words are out of her mouth, Blair quickly leaves the spot knowing very well how you are going to react.
You gasp dramatically, concerned about how quickly she changed her colours. What a traitor you have as a friend.
Jin sits on the stool next to you before you can recover from your shock. "So what have you been drinking?"
You look at Jin with your mouth parted open, still having a hard time understanding what just happened in the span of a few minutes. How you came to the club to temporarily forget about Jin and how now, you are sitting right next to him.
You blink a few times to let the shock subside and with Blair gone, you feel your adrenaline rush fade away.
"I don't know, Blair ordered it," you shrug.
He hums, fiddling with his fingers on the table. "Any special reason you are out here clubbing on a weekday?"
"Nah," you say just as casually as you had uttered the previous sentence. Maybe it's because of the alcohol but you don't find yourself feeling anxious in his presence. There's only a very little amount of unease but that's only because you don't want to get too into your emotions.
Jin watches you closely. You don't look drunk, just tipsy. And thankfully, for him, you don't seem to be too bothered by the fact that he just invited himself.
Someone might say that he's being overdramatic coming all the way to say something he could have said any other time. But when Jimin texted him that you're here, his thoughts started getting a little wild.
What if you were in a club trying to get over him? What if some hot bartender catches your eye? What if your friends are telling you that you deserve better? (The last one, Jin agrees with)
It's fair to say that those thoughts made him rush to this place so that he can finally say what he figured out in the last few days.
Jin inhales deeply and asks the million-dollar question. "Do you– do you still love me?"
You choke on your drink and a series of coughs that follows. Jin immediately asks for a glass of water and helps you calm down.
"What kind of a question is that?" You ask in a raspy voice when your coughing fit subsides.
"A very important one?" He asks you back, his brows now furrowing in nervousness.
You mimic his expression, only that your brows furrow in annoyance. "What kind of people do you hang around with to get the idea that people's feelings change in the span of a few weeks?"
Ah, yes. You're sassy right now.
Jin's features soften and he looks at you with a look of disbelief.
"So you still love me?" He asks in a whisper, too scared to say the words out loud.
"Unfortunately, yes." You nod.
Before you can take hold of another glass of shot, Jin's hand comes to rest on yours. You look at him in confusion, wondering what even is he up to.
"Well, I love you too," a wide smile breaks out on his face as if the thought of you is enough to make him happy.
This time, you choke on thin air. "Excuse me?!"
He takes your hand and brings it to his lips. "I'm sorry it took me so long, but now that I know, I just want to be with you forever."
Your eyes follow his movements and you find your breathing getting shallower and only one question coming to your mind; Is this really happening?
Jin notices the way you seem to have run out of words. It makes him want to smirk in satisfaction but at the same time wrap you in his arms. Had he known you would react this way, he would have done this way sooner. But he was busy being a fool back then.
You were always by his side, through the worst and the best. You were his only constant in the world of variables. He always felt so at home with you, that the thought of changing the dynamics never occurred to him. You two were perfect being best friends and he thought that was how it was going to be forever.
But then he's also a hopeless romantic at heart. He has always dreamt of his perfect partner and what life with them will look like. He has also had his fair share of crushes and relationships but never did the faceless person from his dreams appear to be one of them.
Now that he thinks of it, he knows why that was the case.
"You don't have to say anything," Jin adds, not wanting you to stress about it. "I just needed you to know that I love you and I'm sorry for realising it so late."
Now as sassy as you are when you're tipsy, you're just as bold. Without thinking any further, you lean forward and kiss him. It's odd and something your sober self would never do, but right now you're definitely not sober. Plus, you can leave the overthinking for her when she wakes up tomorrow. At the moment, the only thing that matters to you is that the man you so irrevocably love, loves you back.
Jin freezes and his eyes widen in shock when he feels your lips on his.
He knows you are only doing this because you are drunk. He knows that had you been sober you would have asked a million questions by now. He also, knows that he shouldn't be kissing you back but when he hears a whine of complaint from you at his lack of enthusiasm, his resolve crumbles.
He gently puts his palms on your cheeks and kisses you back passionately. The warm sensation of your lips on his makes his head spin and he wonders how on earth has he gone so long without doing this.
However, he pulls back when he feels your tongue against his lips. "We should get you home."
You shake your head like a stubborn child. "No, I don't want to go."
Gosh, he wants to kiss that pout away. How did he not realise that it's been you all along?
Blair watches from a distance as you throw your hands in the air like a small child and a smile makes its way onto her lips. Guess, she won't have to worry about you moping anymore.
Yoongi
As soon as the doorbell rings, you freeze. That must be Yoongi.
You have been looking forward to this moment and at the same time have been dreading it. But it's one of those things that you know just needs to be done.
You haven't had a single moment of peace since yesterday. It's tiring honestly. You don't know how the conversation with Yoongi will go, but you at least hope that after this you won't feel this heavy weight on your shoulders and will be able to have a good night's sleep.
With that hope, you open the door and you're greeted by Yoongi in a purple suit and the sight itself makes you swallow. You really wish you could marry him.
Shaking the thought away, you welcome him in and ask him to take a seat on the couch.
"Would you like some tea or coffee?" You query
Yoongi shakes his head. "Nothing really. I had coffee before leaving."
Well then, guess you won't get the time to figure out how to start the conversation.
You take a seat on the opposite couch and play with the rings that adorn your fingers. "I called you at my place because there's something important we need to talk about and I thought that a public place isn't suitable for the conversation."
Yoongi nods. He won't lie but he shares the same view. It's difficult for him as it is to talk about his emotions. He doesn't want to imagine having to explain why he came across as nonchalant to your confession and how he respects your honesty, more than he could show.
However, nothing could have prepared him for the next words that leave your mouth.
"I think we should not go forward with this marriage."
Your words cause Yoongi to choke. Out of all the things he wanted to discuss with you, he never saw this coming. "What?!"
Seeing Yoongi react like this catches you slightly off guard. Usually, he always has his emotions in check and is unreadable. It always makes you feel like he's out of reach. However, right now, you can read him like a book, which oddly enough gives you a sense of satisfaction.
"We should not get married." You repeat your words and wait for Yoongi's shocked features to subside.
Yoongi looks at you and notices how determined you seem, as if you have thought about this long and hard and only then have you come to this decision. The thought that there's probably no changing your mind, scares him.
Clearing his throat, he tries to sound as calm as he can. "Why though?"
Now it's your turn to be surprised. Isn't it obvious why the two of you shouldn't get married?
Chewing on your lower lip, you ponder how you should frame your words. After a brief pause, you start with a gentle tone that somehow comes out sad.
"When two people love each other, they get married. Not because they have to, but because they want to. It's like this celebration of their love, where they declare to the world that they are each other's for the rest of eternity. But you see, that's the most important factor–" you look up to lock eyes with Yoongi. "–love."
Love.
It's a word Yoongi has hardly ever given thought to.
Yoongi knows what it feels like to be loved. His parents love him, his sister loves him, his friends love him, his dog loves him. He also knows what it is like to love someone because he loves these people just as much. But love in the way you describe it? Yoongi has never felt that.
From a very young age, he has known that it will be his parents who will choose who he is to marry. Which is why he has never felt or given much thought to what it is like to want to spend his whole life with someone.
But clearly, you have.
It looks like you know exactly what you want and he won't lie, he envies that. He wonders what it's like for someone to know what they want so clearly that they won't settle for anything less.
"We can always fall in love," he says with a small shrug as if it's not a big deal. The gesture makes his words look insincere and although it's true that he doesn't realise the intensity of his words, it's also true that he had shrugged simply to hide how uncomfortable he feels. He has never had to talk to someone about falling in love with them.
You chuckle humorlessly. "I don't think you realise what falling in love really means."
Yoongi wants to feel offended by your words but he can't. Because you're right. "Well, it's never too late to learn."
You can tell that Yoongi is being genuine. But you don't know how you should perceive his genuineness. Should you feel flattered that he's willing to give your marriage a try? Or should you feel sad that he has to try falling in love with someone?
You don't know what the answer to that would be but the thought of him falling for you because he had no other choice, does not sit right with you. Even if you two were happy one day, maybe somewhere at the corner of your mind will be the thought that he fell for you only because you two were forced into this marriage.
"I don't think it will work, Yoongi," you say with a sigh.
Yoongi's brow furrows in frustration. Why are you complicating things like this? "I don't understand what exactly is the problem?"
Here goes nothing.
"We have been on ten dates so far and on none of those occasions, did you ever seem interested in getting to know me on a deeper level. You are a closed book and I respect that it might not be easy for everyone to be open, but what counts is the effort. We have never had an open conversation or proper communication." Your voice comes out even, not a speck of anger or disappointment lacing your words. It sounds like you're only reading out observations from a science experiment. "Why do you think that is? If you were to ask me, and I might be wrong, but it's because you were never interested in the prospect of marrying."
"Had I not asked to break the marriage, things would have been pretty much the same and I would have never voiced these thoughts. You would have made no effort and I would have been trying way too hard to fulfil my wishes. Don't you see how wrong that could go?"
Yoongi remains speechless with his mouth parted.
"It's not only that, though," a small smile appears on your lips. "When you believe in love as much as I do, you'd know that love is inevitable. Everyone deserves it, including you. And I hope that when you do fall in love, you get to walk with them with your head held high without worrying about the wife you had to marry to boost your business."
With each word that comes out of your mouth, you feel a weight being lifted off of your chest one by one. Last night, you stayed up with countless thoughts running through your head. Countless reasons and scenarios why this marriage won't work and would be painful for both of you. Especially you.
Yoongi takes a deep inhale and lets the silence linger.
What else is even there to say? You have given this a whole lot of thinking while he has hardly ever thought about it. Which only goes on to prove your point and how different both of your views on marriage are.
Indeed, he has never shown much effort towards establishing a connection between the both of you. There's no denying that, but he wishes he could tell you that it's not because he wasn't interested in forming one but rather that he does not know how to.
He knows there's no point in clarifying that now though, it will only sound like he's making excuses. Hence, he settles for responding to you with the only sentence that he thinks is relevant.
"We can't break this alliance."
"I know," you nod. "It won't be easy but I'm sure we both will come up with a way to convince our parents."
Yoongi huffs, sensing that you are underestimating his words. "Do you know that the deal has been signed?"
Your eyes widen in shock and disbelief. "What?! H–When?"
Your reaction is enough for Yoongi to know that you indeed, had no idea about the papers being finalised and signed. Your previous words make much sense to Yoongi now and why you thought that the two of you even had any other option but to get married to each other.
"About a week ago," he replies, expression now turning sombre. "I got to know about it only a couple of days ago."
A week ago? That would be around the time you and Yoongi went on your last date where you had confessed to him your feelings. Was it around the same time that both of your doors to escape were closed?
Panic shoots through your veins when the thought that there might be no way out, comes to your mind. No, no, no. There has to be some way.
But is there really?
Yoongi's company is way bigger than your father's. If the two of you back down now, the deal will be cancelled but it will be your father's company that will suffer the most whereas Yoongi's will recover in a few days. It was one thing if the deal was not signed. No gains, no losses. But now, it would be no gain, only losses.
How can you do that to your parents knowing how much stress it will cause them?
You can't.
"I don't have any other choice, do I?" Your voice comes out small, highly in contrast with how confidently you were speaking a few minutes ago.
"I don't think we do," Yoongi sighs, a deep sadness looming over his chest at how dejected you look. "But if it makes you feel any better, we can make a deal."
An abrupt chuckle escapes your lips. "Another deal? Haven't we already had enough?"
"This deal gives you the choice to be free," he comments, noticing how a small hopeful glint appears in your eyes.
"How?"
"Let's stay married for a year, if you still want an out after that, we will get divorced."
Yoongi's words give you a pause.
You can't say that the deal is ideal but it is better than nothing. It gives you the hope that the two of you won't be stuck in a loveless marriage. It also does not create the pressure of being happy with each other because that's the only option.
After thinking for a few moments, you realise that this indeed is what it has all come down to and you'll have to accept it whether you like it or not.
"What about the business deal?" You query, your brain jumping to the concerns of the after-effects of having a divorce.
"By that time, the majority of shares will be transferred to me, I'll take care of it so that there is minimal loss."
You nod and sit back, feeling exhausted from the emotional rollercoaster this conversation has been. You just wish things were simple. That you both could get married to people you were in love with. Or that you both were in love with each other.
The thought makes you look at Yoongi. You can still feel the butterflies in your stomach but there's also this dread that tags along.
Last night, you had considered every possible scenario, and each one of them convinced you why this marriage is not a good idea. But out of all those, there was one which stood out, one that scared you the most and was the most heartbreaking.
The possibility of you falling in love with Yoongi but his response being the same as it was on your last date. You know that the pain you went through this time, would be nothing compared to the pain you would experience then.
You don't want that.
The thought scares you so much, that you make a promise to yourself to not let your guard down so that the situation never occurs.
Hoseok
"You went a little too hard on us today," you say, breathless as you take a bottle of water and uncap it.
Hoseok chuckles. "You say that after every class."
"Do I?" You ask with a small smile, knowing very well that you indeed do. But can you be blamed when Hoseok loses track of time when it comes to dancing and the only thing he focuses on is perfection?
He raises a brow as if asking you to stop pretending and you raise your arms in the air in mock surrender.
He chuckles and shakes his head in amusement. "That's what I thought."
"Oh by the way," you say all excited. "I binge-watched little women during the weekend."
Hoseok's grin widens at the thought that you took the time to watch his recommended show. "Did you enjoy it?"
A thoughtful look appears on your face. "I think it would have been better if the girls had more wins throughout but then I guess it wouldn't have been realistic."
Hoseok hums, understanding where you're coming from. That's an emotion he shares as well. While watching the show, he too wished that the girls didn't have to go through so many ups and downs.
"But you know what I liked?" You say with sparkling eyes.
"What?" Hoseok asks, the gleam in your eyes doing something to his heart.
"Choi Do-il's character!" You say with a small smirk on your lips.
Hoseok finds your behaviour amusing. "Liked him huh?"
"How can I not? He's so cool! He was so loyal to In-joo and he has such a sharp mind, made such tough decisions on the spot." You blabber. "I wish there was someone like him in real life, I'd fall for him in the blink of an eye."
"I wonder what Henry would have to say about that," he replies in a teasing tone, trying to pull your leg. But his smile fades when he sees that your excited expression has now turned sombre.
You shake your head with a soft smile. "Well, we have broken up, so I don't think he would have anything in particular to say."
Hoseok hates that his first reaction is that of joy, which is soon followed by a feeling of guilt. He had convinced himself that he wasn't waiting for this particular day but now, his reaction clearly proves otherwise.
For the time being, he puts his emotions aside and puts your feelings first.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
You sigh. "There isn't anything to talk about. The relationship had run its course."
And that's the truth.
Things were pretty smooth at first, but when the honeymoon phase faded, somewhere down the line, both of you realised that you two weren't right for each other.
The breakup wasn't painful for either of you and maybe that's what acceptance is supposed to be like. It was coming to this understanding that the both of you make great friends but there isn't much hope when it comes to something more than that.
Hoseok chews on his lower lip and wonders what's the right thing to say.
It has been six months since that day in the club and five months and three weeks since he realised that his feelings for you run deeper than he had initially thought.
The first three weeks that followed after his realisation was not easy for him at all. He tried his best to be in denial but with time, he couldn't deny it anymore and he felt anger. Anger towards himself for having the audacity to accept that he has any form of romantic feelings for you after you had been so brave about yours and had put your heart on a plate only for him to be a complete dumb wit. Which was soon followed by the feeling of loss. He lost the opportunity when he had it and won't probably ever get it again.
But after that, it started getting better.
He accepted the fact that you have moved on with someone else and are happy with them. But that doesn't mean he did not get jealous every once in a while when he stumbled upon a picture of you and Henry on Instagram. That little spark of jealousy would serve as the reminder that somewhere deep down, he still wishes for you to be his.
There have been times when he had thought about what he would do if someday, years later you and Henry were to break up. But never did he prepare himself for it. Plus, now, he finds it ridiculous that he had always thought that this would be an opportunity for him to correct his mistake when you could have very well removed any feelings for him from the very root.
Before he can figure it out though, you sense the awkward silence and make an effort to break it. "I'm over it though, it does not bother me."
Hoseok nods softly, his thoughts still muddled. "How long has it been?"
"About a month."
Hoseok observes you closely from his peripheral. He notices how relaxed your features are and concludes that the topic of your breakup isn't necessarily a painful one for you. You also seem, pretty okay with the idea of the two of you having broken up, which makes him hope that you have moved on from Henry. And if in case you haven't, he will wait as long as it takes for you to let someone new in and he will do everything he possibly can to be that someone.
"This might be inappropriate but are you planning to return to the dating world?" Hoseok tries to look as casual as he can by pretending to arrange the CDs on the shelf.
It takes a few moments for you to think about the question before you can come up with an answer.
Are you looking for someone you can date? Not really.
When you had downloaded Tinder all those months ago, it was simply so that you can find a distraction from Hoseok and move on. Fortunately, you found that and more in Henry. But now, that chapter is over and you don't find yourself actively looking for someone to be with.
"Not at the moment, no," you reply honestly. "Maybe a few months later, I'll reinstall Tinder," you laugh at the thought.
Hoseok hums, with his back facing you. "When you decide to reinstall the app, do tell me."
You don't think much of his words and innocently ask, "Why?"
The whole of Hoseok's body heats up in anxiety and he starts putting the CDs on the shelf at a much high speed. "Because then I'll install tinder too and will search you up."
Your frown morphs into an expression of surprise and your lips part to form a small 'o'.
Is…..is Hoseok saying what you think he's saying? Is it his way of saying that he would like to take you out on a date? And say, if the answer to these questions is, yes, what will you do?
In the six months that you have been with Henry, you haven't thought of Hoseok in that way. The intensity of your feelings lessened and you could let yourself be friends with him without letting your feelings get in the way.
But are your feelings for him gone?
You don't know.
Hoseok is a great friend of yours. He is nice, charming, kind, helpful and talented. Not to mention that he is utterly gorgeous. Anyone would be lucky to have him as their partner. But do you still want him as one?
You look at Hoseok and realise that the thought of being with him doesn't feel weird. If anything, it causes a little bit of excitement to stir up in your stomach.
It's true that your crush on him is not as deep as it once was and you're not looking for a relationship at the moment, but for some reason, you feel like when you're ready, you may just fall for him harder than you have ever before.
Clearing your throat, you come up with a response that you think is just right. "In that case, I'll have to make sure that I don't forget to tell you about it."
Hoseok turns around immediately to look at you with a surprised look as if that was the last thing he had expected you to say. But when that surprised look turns into that of relief, your previous questions about Hoseok's intent are answered.
A smile appears on his lips when his surprise fades and he makes a promise to himself to not waste the chance you have been kind enough to give him again. "I'll eagerly wait for that day"
Something in your heart blooms at the soft look he gives you and you nod.
After that, both of your chit-chat resumes and you two giggle and laugh like never before while you pack your stuff. Once you're done, you get ready to leave. "I'll get going then?"
With a gleeful smile, Hoseok responds, "see you next Saturday."
As you're walking out of the door, a thought appears to you. "Oh, also, you can't search for people on Tinder."
And then you're gone.
Hoseok watches your retreating figure and he has to try really hard to stop smiling like a fool.
Maybe there will be no need for Tinder after all.
Namjoon
"I love Y/N," as soon as the words are out of his mouth, he winces, anticipating and dreading Yoongi's reaction.
Yoongi, on the other hand, merely blinks at Namjoon's words. ".....and?"
Out of all the reactions, Namjoon thought Yoongi would give, this was not one of them. This makes things way scarier for him because he thinks this is Yoongi's version of 'calm before the storm'.
"Listen, you can be mad at me all you want. I understand but I just wanted to let you know." Namjoon rambles, his voice coming out high-pitched.
A small frown appears on Yoongi's face. This is it, Namjoon thinks.
"Why do you assume that I'm mad?" Yoongi's question, however, leaves Namjoon perplexed. He searches for any form of pretence on Yoongi's features but when he doesn't find any, he sighs.
"I don't know–" Yoongi's frown deepening is enough for Namjoon to backtrack and start speaking the truth. "–you told me that if I were to ever try to show interest in your sister, our friendship would be over."
"I mean, I don't recall saying that but it does sound like something I'd say," Yoongi nods.
Now it's Namjoon's turn to frown. Is Yoongi mad or not? "What am I supposed to make of it?"
"Nothing," Yoongi shrugs. "I should rather ask you, what was your purpose in telling me that you have feelings for Y/N? Was it because you felt like you had to ask for my permission? Or were you scared that it would affect our friendship?" A chuckle escapes Yoongi's lips.
Namjoom sighs, feeling his muscles relax as he finally lets himself realise that Yoongi isn't mad. "I think it's more of the latter."
"So you won't ask for my permission, before pursuing her?" A scowl appears on Yoongi's face which immediately makes Namjoon stutter.
"I–I–I didn't mean that. Of course, I would ask for your permission."
Yoongi tries his hardest to hold back the satisfied smirk that tries to make an appearance. It's nice to see Namjoon being scared of him every once in a while.
"That's better," Yoongi hums. "And you don't have to worry about ruining our friendship and all that shit. That's very high school."
Namjoon feels like he can breathe again. After weeks, it feels like he can finally be honest with himself and most importantly with you, without being scared. A wide dimpled smile appears on his face at the thought of finally confessing to you.
"Gosh, that's annoying," Yoongi huffs, with no real annoyance in his tone. If anything, he's glad to see the wide grin on his friend's face. "If she does reciprocate your feelings and the two of you become a couple, I do hope that the two of you don't turn out to be one of those intolerable ones."
You find almost everything intolerable. That's the thought that comes to Namjoon's mind but before he can speak those words, a much scary thought appears to him which takes his breath away.
"What if Y/N does not accept my feelings?" His voice comes out in a whisper, too scared to speak those words loudly.
Yoongi thinks the chances of that happening are very low. But he chooses not to say it. It's your feelings, you're the only one who knows where they lie. Yoongi does not wish to assume. Instead, he chooses to assure his friend that even if he were to get turned down, he will be there for him.
"I will order a bottle of champagne and soju, each. If things work out, then we will celebrate with champagne. If they don't, then we can have soju."
Namjoon is grateful for Yoongi's words, he really is but the fear that courses through his veins makes it impossible for him to think straight. "You don't get it. She confessed to me and I turned her down."
This time, a genuine scowl appears on Yoongi's face. "Why would you do that?"
Namjoon lets out a heavy breath. "I thought you'd be mad and our friendship would get ruined."
Yoongi tries his hardest not to let his eyes roll but ultimately fails. "Now I remember why I had told you not to pursue my sister."
Namjoon's heart drops at the comment. Is Yoongi about to change his mind?
"One because it was high school and you were going through your fuckboy stage," Yoongi says, with squinted eyes that make it obvious that he's judging Namjoon. "Second, you were dense as fuck at times. Which, clearly, hasn't changed even now."
That had been two days ago.
After the very scary chat session with Yoongi, Namjooon needed some time to recover. Two days to be exact. Now he has finally managed to grab the courage to talk to you and be honest.
His hands hover in the air for a few moments before he knocks. He hopes and wants this to go well, otherwise, he thinks, he won't be able to forgive himself.
You frown when you hear the knock. Who has decided to bother you on a fine Sunday?
You set aside the book you were reading and begrudgingly get up. With heavy steps, you head towards the door and swing it open. The regret that hits you is instantaneous. You should have checked through the peephole before opening.
Namjoon notices your features drop and it makes him feel terribly guilty for his actions and words. With that guilt, also comes the strong need to make things right.
"Do you need something?" You keep your tone cold to avoid any display of emotion. It's not that you are mad at him for the rejection. You're hurt about it, sure. Mad? No.
However, you feel incredibly embarrassed about confessing the way you did. You are aware that you were under the influence of alcohol but that doesn't make it any less humiliating.
"I need to talk to you," Namjoon replies shakily as he finds his anxiety increasing. What if you have decided to move on or have come to the conclusion that he isn't worth it?
You'd really like to make an excuse as to why you wouldn't be able to talk right now but something in you makes you decide otherwise. Maybe it's because you don't want things to be awkward between the two of you as it would put Yoongi in a tough spot. Or maybe it's because you hate seeing Namjoon so anxious, that you find yourself moving out of his way.
"Can I take a seat?" He asks awkwardly, with his index finger pointing at the couch, when he realises that you are simply waiting for him to start talking about whatever it is that he is here for.
You are aware that you are being rude but you honestly don't know how to behave 'normally' around him, anymore. So, you simply hum and wait for him to take a seat.
"Uhm," he clears his throat, "I wanted to talk to you about what happened at the party."
"We can talk about anything but that," you say pointedly. There's no way you are going to talk about that night when all you want is to leave that memory somewhere far behind.
Namjoon notices the discomfort that etches your features despite your attempts at hiding it and sighs. "Okay, then I won't bring that up but I need to tell you something."
"Go on."
Namjoon takes in a deep breath before closing his eyes to grab the courage to let the words spill out. "I'm in love with you."
At first, the words don't sink in.
You stand there, leaning against the wall, watching Namjoon. However, when you see the scared and anxious look on his face, you replay his words in your mind.
I'm in love with you.
He's in love with you.
The thought makes you angry.
You scoff. "Do you expect me to take you seriously?"
Namjoon shakes his head. "I don't expect you to but just hear me out."
"I don't want to." You declare stubbornly.
"I know but give me just one chance to explain myself." He pleads gently, not wanting you to feel as if you have to hear him out. He has already caused you enough pain and if you choose that you do not wish to hear him out, he is going to respect that.
You want to laugh at Namjoon's request. You can accept the fact that he does not have feelings for you, no matter how hard that might be. But accepting that he is in love with you after the pain that you have been through? You can't accept that.
You'd very much like to close this topic and never have either of you mention it. But you can't say no to Namjoon when he looks like that. He is one of your biggest weaknesses and not hearing him out would cause you pain as well.
Instead of telling him verbally that you will hear him out, you look out of the window and stare outside blankly, which is enough for Namjoon to know that you're listening.
"I never thought that my feelings would be reciprocated. Which is why, I did not know what to say and said what I thought was right, at the time," his voice comes out vulnerable.
You feel your annoyance flaring. If that really were the case he could have just said the truth. Why lie? Whose first instinct is to lie about their feelings, upon realising that they are not one sided?
Namjoon's next words answer your unasked question. "After my last two relationships ended the way, they did, I thought that all my relationships were destined to be doomed. I was scared to commit to anyone, especially you."
He sighs. "If we were to date and break up, it would change everything not only for the both of us but also for Yoongi. And if that were to happen I'd never be able to forgive myself."
It was around the time that Namjoon mentioned his last two relationships, that you stopped pretending to not care about what he had to say. You know how sensitive the topic is for him and for him to bring it up now, it must be serious.
To put it simply, his last two relationships ended terribly. But each time, Namjoon blamed himself and thought that it was entirely his fault, which you know isn't the case.
Now that Namjoon breaks it down to you, you find your anger fading and find yourself sympathising with him. You may not agree with his actions but you can understand where he was coming from.
What you don't understand, however, is why he is telling you these things. If you're understanding him right, he said what he said at the party because he was scared. But now, he is here, telling you that he loves you. But why?
"Why are you telling me this?" You ask and you are surprised by the lack of coldness in your voice. Maybe it's because he's being vulnerable with you that gives you the courage to put your embarrassment aside for the time being.
Namjoon smiles softly. "I had a chat with Yoongi and it made me realise that I am the only one who thinks this way."
He was indeed scared shitless of his feelings affecting the friendship between him and Yoongi. He had taken Yoongi's cautionary way too seriously and while he was under that impression, what scared him even more was that he would take the risk of being with you only to later wish that he had stayed in his lane. He thought that maybe Yoongi too shares the same viewpoint as he does and hence had asked him to stay from you.
When he had gathered the courage to talk about it to Yoongi, it was with the intention of getting Yoongi's approval. Namjoon already knew that he wasn't going to listen to the voice in his head and that you were worth the risk.
However, when Namjoon went back to his dorms and thought about the conversation he had with Yoongi, it made him realise that he was the only one who was holding these beliefs. Not only that, but Yoongi's reaction made him believe in himself, because even if Yoongi won't ever say it out loud, his calm and nonchalant behaviour was him letting Namjoon know that he trusts him.
"Plus," Namjoon continues, "I know I would regret it forever if I were to let you go simply because I was scared."
You swallow at his words as any remaining trace of anger is washed away from your body.
You know it can't be easy to do something when your insecurities are constantly telling you to do otherwise. But him doing just that, serves as a testimony of his love for you. Hence, even though at the beginning you weren't willing to accept his declaration of love, now you find your heart melting.
"So," you fiddle with your fingers. "What does all this mean?"
"Well if you have forgiven me for my stupidity, I'd like to take you out on a date." Namjoon hopes it isn't too soon to ask you out. But more than anything else, he wishes for your forgiveness.
His words make your chest hurt and you immediately rush to make things clear. "There's nothing to be forgiven, I never held a grudge against you."
"But you wouldn't even look at me?" He asks, with a pained look.
Your heart sinks further. You had thought that it was only painful for you clearly that wasn't the case. "That's because I was embarrassed. It's just incredibly stupid to get drunk because you saw the man you love kissing someone else and then going and confessing like that."
Aaaahhhh.
Right, that whole him making out with someone, thing. He now remembers you mentioning it at the party.
"Sorry to break it to you, but I did not kiss anyone," a small amused smile plays on his lips. "I was only helping the girl to get rid of something that had gotten into her eyes."
Your eyes widen when you hear that. Gosh, could you be any more stupid? You close your eyes tightly and groan in annoyance.
Namjoon gets up from the couch and slowly walks towards you. He understands why it might have looked like he was making out with someone, after all, parties have the worst lighting. But he doesn't want you to feel embarrassed about it. After all, if it hadn't been for that misunderstanding, you would have never confessed and neither would he.
After a small moment of hesitation, he puts his palm on your cheek and urges you to open your eyes.
"Hey," he whispers. "I'm really glad you misunderstood things that day. But I can assure you, that yours are the only lips I would ever want to kiss."
His words make you gulp. Here you were drowning in embarrassment a few moments ago and here you are now, breathless from the close proximity.
"Prove it," you whisper back.
Namjoon's eyes fall on your lips. As much as he would like to feel how soft your lips are, he wants to do things right.
With great willpower, he brings his eyes back to yours and kisses you on the forehead. "Trust me, there's nothing more I want than kissing you right now. But I want to take you out on a date first."
You chuckle at his words. "Well then, take me out on a date and at the end of it, kiss me like you mean it."
Namjoon's heart does a little dance at your words and he already feels his mind coming up with ideas of how he can make the date one that you never forget. "I'll make the date as perfect as you are."
Maybe you two will indeed be like one of those couples, Yoongi finds intolerable.
A/N: I definitely plan to write a Ceo Yoongi series with these two, hence that's how I decided to write them for this part!

Request: Jimin and/or Hobi x innocent/virgin reader. innocence/corruption kink. maybe teaching her how to do a blowjob idk. smut.
WOOOOOF usually virgin/innocent smut is not really my bag but. idk. the stars aligned and in this moment it was very much my bag. we went full nasty with it 🙆♀️ thank you for this req - i hope you enjoy!!! 🌹
~taking jihope drabble requests all month!!~
pairing: hoseok x virgin!reader wordcount: it's like 1.2k but we had a vision alright contains: member POV 😈, alcohol mention, reader is a virgin and v sexually inexperienced (it's her first time doing like everything okay), hobi is a good teacher tho 😏, first blowjob, he is... definitely turned on by her innocence (i mean this is really what it says on the tin lmao), some dirty talk/name calling, face fucking, might be under-negotiated if u squint, she touches herself, a surprise facial lol, manhandling, he eats her out over her underwear - i think that's it !!
~*~
You’ve never done this before.
That’s all Hoseok can think as you sink to your knees in front of him, eyes big and blinking, awaiting instruction.
It’s why you picked him, he’d learned tonight, after you’d sipped at your vodka cranberry until it loosened your lips. You’d swiped on his dating app profile after seeing his listed occupation: dance instructor.
That’s what you needed. A teacher.
You’d confessed it with your face buried in your palms, drunk enough to say it but sober enough to still feel the shame. Growing up, you’d listened to the stories as your friends started having sex, blossoming one by one into experienced, confident adults. But it just never happened for you.
And now, here you are. A late bloomer. Inexperienced. “A virgin,” you’d admitted, mortified. “It’s fucking embarrassing.”
Hoseok thought it was hot, actually, but he kept that to himself.
He knows he’s a good teacher: attentive, detail-oriented, a good communicator. And very patient. But fuck, if seeing you sit back on your socked heels and lick your lips doesn’t test that patience.
“Take it out, baby.”
You fumble open the button on his jeans, shaky-handed, clearly nervous, so Hoseok helps you out, easing pants and boxers down in one go. He doesn’t miss the look on your face as you take him in.
God, he’s already hard and you haven’t so much as breathed on him.
“Ever seen one before?” he murmurs, fingers carding through your hair.
The self-conscious exhale you let out tells him the answer before you even find the words. You don’t have to.
“That’s okay. Just touch it.”
Hoseok can barely bite back his groan when you wrap your hand around him and give a tentative squeeze. He allows you a second to get used to the weight of him, the feeling, velvet firm and blood hot.
Shy little thing with a cock in her hand. He’ll ruin you if you let him. Take every first you’re willing to give.
You shift on the floor, and Hoseok thinks maybe you’re gonna ask to stop, crawl back into his bed for another hour of his tongue in your mouth, his hands pawing at your tits over your shirt.
But then he feels it: the soft pink drag of your tongue at the crown of his cock. One pass, then two. Like he’s a fucking ice cream cone.
It tears a rough sound from the back of his throat. He wonders if you can feel him pulse in your hand, if you can taste the precum drooling out of his slit as you keep on kitten licking at him.
“Yeah, you wanna taste?” he asks, and you nod with his cock still on the flat of your tongue. “Suck on the tip,” he instructs, because this is what you’re here for. “Just watch your teeth.”
With a soft noise, you do what your teacher says.
Hoseok’s first taste of the sweet, wet warmth of your mouth is made twice as good by the way you glance up at him through your lashes, clearly searching for an affirmation that you’re doing it right. Too innocent to know what you look like: a perfect little whore.
“So pretty like this, baby,” he groans, ever a believer in positive reinforcement. “Suckin’ on your very first cock.”
A muscle in your throat jumps; he wonders if that’s a twinge of embarrassment rolling through you. Wonders if it’s fucked up how much he likes that.
“Want some more?” he asks, and you’re already stretching your lips further down his shaft, dragging his entire tip and then some over the hot stripe of your tongue. Hoseok cups your jaw with one hand as he pushes into your mouth, gentle as he can. He can’t quite hide the ragged edge to his breathing.
“Hollow your cheeks,” he rasps. “Suck harder.”
The added pressure when you tighten up around him nearly makes his knees buckle.
“Fuck,” he moans, fingers tangling in the hair at the nape of your neck. “That’s it.”
Your rhythm isn’t perfect, but he figures maybe the best way to teach is by example, so he reaches down to hold your head in both hands as his hips start to kick forward.
“Let me use you, baby,” Hoseok breathes, and he didn’t really mean to say it out loud, but the noise you make around his dick is everything he needs to hear.
Another low moan rips through him at the sight of you, his little virgin down on her knees and just fucking taking it, and he picks up the pace, deliberately fucks into your mouth like he wants to mold your tongue in the shape of him.
“Already a slut for this cock, huh?”
A crease notches between Hoseok’s brows. His eyes drink you in as his hips roll: the willing gape of your mouth, the flutter of your lashes, the thick spit gloss spilling from the seal of your lips.
And then his gaze tracks lower, and– oh.
You’ve let your knees peel apart, just enough to hitch your skirt up the smooth skin of your thighs, and the hand that isn’t clung to Hoseok’s hip for balance has snaked its way between your legs. But you’re not touching yourself, not really. You’re just… grinding the flat of your palm into your underwear. Thin white cotton, plain and not meant to be sexy, not bought for anyone else to ever see. Somehow the hottest fucking thing.
Hoseok chokes on a whine because fuck, is this how you always get off? Too sweetly unsure to actually masturbate, just rutting your hot little pussy against your hand, a plushie, the corner of your bed.
Ashamed of the pleasure and chasing it anyway.
The thought is dizzying, distractingly so, and he miscalculates a thrust, feels the head of his cock scrape the back of your throat and everything clench tight at the intrusion.
He pulls out with a gasp to give you a second, but even the friction of that quick drag is enough to tip him over the edge, and then his hand is mindlessly tugging at his wet shaft because he needs to come so fucking bad.
And then he does, he is, he’s coming, sticky thick ropes of it leaking from the head of his dick before he can even warn you. All that he manages is another groan as he paints you, white streaks splattering over your cheeks, down your neck, a little in your hair; making a mess of you.
To Hoseok’s surprise, you don’t react with disgust or even shock. Instead a soft moan slips through your spit-slicked lips, and your hips buck harder against your palm, and he can’t hold back another fucking second.
He’s already on the floor, and maybe it’s too rough, the way he drags your hips toward him until you’re flat on your back, but he can’t not do it. Can’t not shove your legs open to bury his face between your thighs, can’t not lick up the already soaked-through seat of your panties and gasp against it at the raw taste of you.
And he’s the first to ever have it.
It doesn’t take much, just a few more drags of his tongue, rubbing firmly at the clothed seam of your virgin pussy until your hips shove up and your hands tangle in his hair as you come.
Hoseok can already tell he’ll play the moment back until he wears out the mental recording of it: your spine arching off the hardwood floor, his cum still dripping down your face as you moan like the whore he knew he could make of you.
After all, he’s a very good teacher.

The 8th Member of Bangtan💜
•••
Chapter 4 - The Dance Practice 💥✨🪩
Synopsis: you (y/n 🦊) are the 8th member of bts and are involved in all the fun and banter with the boys as you work on your music and side projects for army
Pairings: platonic! ot7 x gn! reader
Warnings: angst, gossip, slight arguments, discussions of self worth and self doubt
A/n: yn faces off with dance instructor Jung Hoseok and some gossipy staff members in this one… as usual yn is gender neutral so read the honorific’s as they apply to you, also ‘Cha Hwa-young’ is just a random name I plucked off the internet and is in reference to no one with the same name
•••
6am.
Your alarm was blaring and the echo of Hobi’s words were in your brain.
“Dance practise at 7am”
You rolled out of bed and slipped on the workout outfit you’d planned the night before (something simple yet stylish so on the off chance the staff would film some of the practice for army, you’d look presentable).
Preparing for a comeback was no joke… constant lyric writing, recording and choreography sessions. Anything to make the perfect songs and performance for army.
Today you are all working on the choreo for ‘Dynamite’ which meant excessive sweating and the scrutiny of dance teacher Jung Hoseok.
“I’m gonna miss Hobi today” you said to Jungkook and Jimin, the others having left earlier, leaving the 3 of you to catch up to the studio.
“How? Is he not gonna be there, noona/hyung?” Jungkook asked still sleepy and rubbing his eyes.
“He’ll be there kookie, I just mean he’s gonna be in his serious dance instructor mode today” you explained, expression glum.
“Ah come on dongsaengie, cheer up” Jimin said squishing your mouth into the shape of a smile, “it’s gonna be a fun practice… besides that’s how we get our dances perfect right?”
His arching eyebrows and imploring expression made you nod in agreement… one cup of coffee and you’d be fine.
Or so you thought.
•••
Pulling up to the HYBE building, your phone buzzed.
🐨: heads up guys… there’s a new assistant staff member in today
🐻: she’s pretty
🐱: Tae be professional, she’s only just across the room
All of a sudden, Jungkook and Jimin came to life at the mention of a new, pretty staff member. You were also intrigued but now you were even more nervous.
These days the staff (especially the core staff) didn’t change and rotate that much. Most of the staff that worked closely with you and boys had been working for years, allowing you to become trusted confidants and somewhat friends.
Jungkook could sense your unease as he wrapped his muscly arm around your shoulder and pulled you in for a reassuring hug.
“It’ll be alright noona/hyung”
And boy was he wrong.
The minute you stepped into the rehearsal room the vibe was different.
The boys were huddled in one corner of room rather than spread out, their collective bodies hiding the fact they were talking and giggling with to a new member of staff. The three of you approached the throng and Jungkook cleared his throat to alert his hyungs to your presence.
“Ah, here they all are!” Namjoon greeted you all, parting the group, revealing the dark-haired woman still dressed in her long parka coat.
“Jimin-ssi, Jungkook-ssi, yn-ssi” she said with a low bow.
“This is Cha Hwa-young” Hobi did the introducing with a big smile on his face - he always loved meeting new staff.
The three of you returned the greeting with a short bow.
“Where’s the coffee, Hobah?” you tapped Hobi on the shoulder.
He rolled his shoulder to get your finger off him and turned from his apparently hilarious conversation with Hwa-young to answer you, slightly annoyed expression on his face.
“I don’t know yn, go ask the staff members, I’m sure they’ve did the run already”
It seemed like your prediction was right, Hobi was already annoyed and you hadn’t even begun to dance yet.
Speaking of, dance practise was now running 15 minutes late because the boys were busy getting to know Hwa-young, though you stayed back from the conversation because every time you tried to interject you’d be brushed off or ignored.
What you didn’t notice was that the one youngest and one oldest member were hanging about closer to you than they usually did during dance practice.
“Here dongsaengie” Jin said passing you your cup of hot coffee.
Jin and Jungkook could definitely read you and the staff members better than the rest - in other words they could see you sulking more than usual and the new staff member turning a bit cold towards you compared to how she was buttering up the boys.
“Should we start the rehearsal now Hobi hyung?” Jungkook suggested, making Hobi check his watch with a surprised face.
“Ah yes right! Let’s just pick up from where we left off the last time”
After some stretching, you and the boys took your starting positions and the beat of ‘Dynamite’ rang across the studio. You tried to ignore the glaring look Hwa-young sent you from across the room.
The first run through went well and Hobi seemed pleased with everyone.
“What did you think Hwa-young-ssi?” he asked.
She looked somewhat taken aback but pleased at the direct question.
“It was wonderful, Jhope-ssi!” she complimented with a bow, gaining agreements from the other staff and preening from the group, “though I think yn-ssi stepped on Jungkooks foot? You better watch Jungkook-ssi, your lace is undone now”
Everyone looked at Jungkooks shoe, and of course, his lace was undone.
“Ah I’m sorry Kook! Did I step on your foot?” you rushed down to your knees to help him tie his lace again.
You swore you could here some snickers over at the far side of the wall where the staff was standing.
“Just a little bit noona/hyung… it’s okay it wasn’t sore!” Jungkook sought to reassure you before you fretted.
“It’s okay yn-ie, I’m clumsy all the time” Joon offered you a hand up from the ground with a reassuring smile.
You got up and dusted yourself off, both physically and mentally.
“I’m gonna watch the next run through” Hobi said standing in front of the group, arms folded and concentration evident on his face.
•••
“It wasn’t that bad baby petal” Jin tried to reassure you.
“He was mad at me too, yn-ie” Jimin tuned in.
“He’s not mad, he’s just stressed and wants to get the choreo right,” Yoongi said, sitting down at the lunch table.
The staff came up to you all with water and bowls of lunch (bibimbap from today’s menu) and sat down away from the group.
“Where is hyung anyway?” Jungkook asked.
“He’s reviewing the dance footage” Tae said with a mouthful of seaweed and rice.
“He should come eat soon… I’ll go and get him” Jin stood up.
Suddenly without his broad shoulders shielding you, you felt the eyes of hybe’s cafeteria goers and most unsettlingly, those of the group of staff you knew had been in dance practise with you all. Hwa-young, though, was missing among them.
Jin returned with Hobi in tow. The expression on his face was indecipherable but he didn’t really look up from his bibimbap bowl while he talked.
“We need to tighten up the choreo guys… I know we’ve only just finalised it but we’ve got less than a month left before the company will want to start recording us practice and start recording the music video”
“We’ll get there Hobi hyung” jimin offered hopefully.
“It’s just frustrating Jiminie, I want it all to look perfect as soon as possible, otherwise it gives me anxiety”
“You’re the best dancer here hyung” namjoon offered to the unusually downtrodden man, “it just takes some of us a bit longer”
“I know Joon, I can’t expect perfect from some of you straight away, but I usually expect my dance line to perform well”
The words hung in the air. Everyone knew by that he meant Jungkook, Jimin, Tae and you. And who had been messing up the most all morning? You had.
Sure the hyungs needed a few minutes more of individual coaching from Hobi than the rest and Namjoon in particular could be prone to tripping, but you knew by the look on his face Hobi expected more from his maknaes.
You sat with your head low, hating to disappoint any of your members. You could feel eyes on you and became overcome with the need to escape.
“Sorry oppa/hyung” you mumbled, before standing from your seat, “excuse me”
You walked to the first place you could find to be alone. The bathroom. But before you could round the corner you heard the voice you’d been hearing all afternoon. Hwa-young.
“Poor jhope-ssi, he’s so stressed about the dance… they’re the one that came in late with Jungkook and Jimin… what was their name again?”
“Yn?” the voice of another staff member offered.
“Ah yes, well they’re apparently part of bts dance line but from this morning you’d find that hard to believe” she snickered, followed by a burst of laughter.
Sometimes you hated the labels associated with being an idol. Sure you were part of rapline… that was a given since you rapped all your verses in bts’s songs. But dancing wasn’t always your strong suit. Jimin and Hobi were trained professionals before they joined the bighit label in their pre-debut days. And Jungkook was just naturally talented at things while Tae had his own flare that army ate up during a performance.
You don’t even know why you were proclaimed as part of dance line when you felt like you couldn’t live up to their expertise or talent. And hearing Hobi and the staffs words all but confirmed your doubts.
Maybe… you thought, you’d have to rethink your position in the team. This afternoon you’d been clunky and causing delays. Maybe bangtan would be better without you, you thought.
You couldn’t be noticed by the staff now so you walked to the further away bathroom to get some quiet and clear your head.
You had only been sitting in the bathroom stall for 10 minutes when a text came through.
🐰: noona/hyung… are you okay?
🦊: fine kookie, just in the bathroom
🐰: hyungs say we’re heading back into practice in 5
You gave the message a thumbs up and put you phone back in your pocket. It wasn’t too late to back out, the promos for the Dynamite comeback hadn’t happened yet. They could easily cut your lines or have someone else in rapline re-record them so they wouldn’t go to waste. For now you swallowed those thoughts down and walked back to the practice room.
Jungkook was looking at you with wide boba eyes and Jin looked concerned.
“Everything okay baby petal?”
“Yes oppa/hyung, just a stomach ache”
“Can you still dance?”
He had no idea how hard that question hit but you just painted on a smile and nodded anyway.
Yet again the rest of the boys were oblivious, gathered around Hwa-young and her quickly acquired friends, talking and giggling.
Once you announced yourself, the members got to practising over and over until early evening until Hobi was completely satisfied with the days work. Everyone left the studio with aching muscles but only one member left with a head full of self doubts.
•••
“Jhope-ssi, would you and the group like to come with us to dinner?”
“Ah that would be nice noona,” Hobi turned to the group, “you want food guys?”
Noona? After only one day of getting familiar, you thought.
Everyone nodded, even Jin and Jungkook who could never deny food, probably even from their worst enemy.
“Yn-ssi” Hwa-young addressed you, “you probably won’t want to come along with that upset stomach you talked about having earlier”
Inside you seethed. But really she was right. You didn’t want to be around anyone for any longer today and certainly not her.
“I’ll turn in for the night, see you guys later” though you had no intention of leaving your bedroom to socialise tonight or even answer the door for that matter.
“Alright, it was very nice to meet you” she gave a bow and headed for the cars.
You returned it, but only because she was your elder.
“Noona/hyung, please come with us, we’ll only worry” Jungkook pleaded.
“Really I’ll be fine Kook, go with your hyungs and have fun, it’s been a long day” you chased him.
He looked somewhat forlorn as he walked away with Jin, who turned at the last second and mouthed “you okay?” to you, to which you replied with a nod.
You certainly weren’t okay but you didn’t intend to ruin dinner after being the reason that a dance practice session had soured.
You got a separate car back to the dorms, had your single bowl of ramen (because you knew you’d face the wrath of Jin if you didn’t eat) and headed to bed.
You had a lot to think about and a lot of time to do it before they got home.
•••
A/n: leaving this one on a cliffhanger sorry! will 8th member of bangtan want to stay or will they take some convincing? 🤔 hope you enjoyed some angst (we still love all the boys in this house) but we’ll see a continuation of this storyline in the next fic… then maybe back to some lighter storylines lol 💖

Practice Room of Doom
Request: Hello! May I request j-hope with the quote “Don't look at them. Look at me." Maybe where he encourages her to street dance, but she’s very shy. Or whatever you come up with. Thank you!
Prompt:
2) "Don't look at them. Look at me."
Pairing: BTS J-Hope x Reader
Genre: Fluff
.
This moment felt oddly reminiscent of your first day of kindergarten. As an adult, you never thought you'd find yourself sitting crisscross applesauce on a foam mat, waiting for your teacher to walk into the room.
Maybe "teacher" wasn't exactly the correct word. Instructor? Dance Master?
Nope, that made it weird.
"I smell burning," your friend, Bee, sighed. She gave you a side eye. "I think you're thinking too much."
"Or you're having a stroke," you muttered. "Burnt toast?"
"Burnt brain," she laughed, smacking you on the shoulder. "What are you worrying about over there?"
"Oh, I don't know," you sighed. "Maybe the fact that I haven't danced since our fourth-grade pageant where I was, for whatever reason, cast as Abraham Lincoln."
"Your beard was very impressive for a nine-year-old."
"I hate you and I want to go home."
"It's going to be fiiiine," Bee cooed. "We're going to learn a badass dance from someone who is really well known in the dance world, and then that'll be it."
"That'll be it," you nodded. "It's just that simple."
"Absolutely," your friend grinned before looking away. "And then we'll film our choreo for the YouTube channel and I'll take you for boba."
"I'm sorry, what?" you asked, gaping.
"You like boba," she continued nonchalantly. "Personally, I prefer the fruit smoothies, but-"
"Before that," you croaked.
"We're going to learn a badass dance," she nodded.
"After that."
"Oh, filming?" she said, furrowing her brows. "Yeah, the studio's YouTube is pretty well known, so they film when they have different guest instructors in."
"Okay," you sighed, moving to stand up. "That's it, I'm-"
Just as Bee had grabbed the bottom half of your hoodie and began to tug you back down, excited whispers filled the room. Looking up from your semi-kneeling position, you were knocked on your butt when a small group of people walked in.
One of them you recognized as the studio owner. You had seen her advertisements enough to place her face. Next, you identified her main dance instructor, who happened to have Bee drooling on a daily basis. And the third person didn't resonate with you, but you did have to reconcile with one thing.
He was hot.
Like melt your face hot.
Walking in with a confident swagger, his dark eyes swept across the room in quiet assessment. As if you manifested it, his gaze settled on your body now sprawled across the floor. You watched in horror as the corner of his mouth hitched up to a smirk before he looked away again.
"Dancers!" the owner called, clapping her hands. "I want you to meet our guest for the next few days, Jung Hoseok!"
The crowd erupted into applause as Hoseok took a bow.
"Am I supposed to know who he is?" you whispered, clapping nonetheless.
"Probably not," Bee chuckled. "I wouldn't have expected you to, but I think everyone here just creamed their jeans."
"So eloquent with words, best friend," you muttered.
She rolled her eyes before continuing. "He's a big deal in the dance world."
"I gathered."
You focused again on the stranger. He would be a big deal in any world. He radiated a sort of...lightness that only grew brighter as he waited for the applause to settle. Dressed in fitted, red, Nike joggers and an oversized white tee, you were surprised at how his simplicity made him look so cool. He wore a cap, turned backward, a small blessing that allowed you to really see his handsome face.
And that smile.
While he was already bright on his own, the grin kicked it up at least another hundred watts.
"Thank you!" he laughed as the clapping dyed down. "You guys can call me Hobi."
"Ho-bi," a gentle whisper of the crowd echoed across the room. This caused Hoseok to peel into laughter.
"We're going to work on learning some choreography today," he nodded after pulling himself together. "We'll get the steps down, and then I want you guys to pair off to practice. We'll give you the day tomorrow to perfect your movements, and then we'll be filming some clips the day after. Sound good?"
A muddled cheer lifted into the air as people began to wiggle to a standing position. Getting up on wobbly legs, you looked around the room and let out a sigh of relief. It was packed with at least 30-40 people. The chance of anyone noticing you besides Bee was pretty slim and you wanted to keep it that way.
The lesson went relatively quickly. You did much better than you had anticipated and actually felt a little flutter of happiness as you and Bee practiced side by side. The dance was much sexier than anything you would have attempted on your own (if you had even attempted to dance in the first place).
"Great job!" Hobi called, panting as he walked in between the dancers. "You've all got so much talent!"
You looked around at everyone who had expressions similar to your own. Pure joy and pride lit up the room.
"Now! Before we all go, I want you to split off into pairs or groups of three to practice tomorrow!"
"Hobi?" a girl toward the front row asked. Timidly lowering her hand, she waited until Hoseok turned her way, eyebrows lifted. "Will you be picking someone to film with tomorrow as well?"
"Ah, yes!" he laughed, clapping his hands. "I almost forgot. Who wants to be my partner?"
You could feel yourself shrinking into your own shoulders as he scanned the room. People squeaked and jumped, nearly every person holding their hand in the air.
To your horror, and Bee's delight, Hobi stopped his pacing and settled himself in front of you. "What's your name?"
You looked up at him with wide eyes, unable to open your mouth.
"Y/N!" Bee called behind you, leaning forward to shake your shoulders. "That's their name."
"Y/N," Hoseok said thoughtfully, crossing his arms. "Looks like I'm taken! Y/N is my partner!"
..
Your stomach felt like a lead weight as you trudged up to the door of the dance studio. While other groups were practicing wherever they saw fit, you had agreed to meet Hoseok back at the studio you had been tricked into participating in yesterday. It was never your intention to even be filmed. You had fully planned on learning the dance that evening and never showing your face there ever again.
Walking through the door, your feet led you to the practice room of doom. Standing outside for a moment, you watched through the small window as you saw Hobi freestyling something you hadn't learned the previous day. A light sweat already glistening on his tanned skin, you tried to tamp down the inappropriate thoughts swirling in your head. Swallowing, you set your hand on the handle and pushed.
Immediately stopping his motions, Hobi ran to the speaker to turn off the music pumping from his phone. Turning to you with that trademark smile, he waved.
"Y/N," he said, crossing the room to take your hand in his. "We were never properly introduced."
"Right," you cringed. "Hoseok, master of the dance."
What was wrong with you?
Hobi let out a huff of a laugh as he took a step back. "Is that what my new street rep is? Master of the dance?"
"I, uh," you croaked, wincing. "To be honest, I'm not that plugged in to what anyone's street rep is...let alone when it comes to well-known dancers."
"We'll change that," he smiled, patting you on the arm. You suddenly forgot how to breath as he looked you slowly up and down. "Ready when you are."
...
The torture was slow and painful.
You realized Hobi was a big name in dance, but you hadn't realized he would be as much of a perfectionist as he was. Since you weren't trained even a little bit, it made for a really rough lesson.
"I think I'm going to vomit," you whispered, falling to all fours on the hardwood.
"Water," Hobi nodded, immediately sweeping over to you with an ice-cold bottle. "You haven't been drinking enough."
"It'll just make me sweat more," you grumbled, plopping over. Whatever facade of elegance you had put on in an attempt to appease your instructor had dropped long ago. You had cursed, yelled, and nearly cried in front of him, so the charade was for nothing.
"That's good. It's when you stop sweating that we get worried," Hobi chuckled, crouching on the floor beside you.
Looking over, you were a bit surprised at how close he was sitting, especially considering how drenched you were.
"You did well today," Hobi said with a gentle smile. "And I apologize."
"For what?" you groaned. "Besides you know, nearly killing me."
"I should've helped you stretch first," he nodded with a grimace. "And maybe not have pushed so hard."
"Maybe?" you laughed. "Maybe I should have faked an injury at least an hour ago."
This caused a loud laugh to erupt from the man next to you. You had grown to love the sound over the past few hours.
"But then I wouldn't have the amazing, talented, and beautiful partner I do now," he grinned.
As you looked at him with wide eyes, your expression caused his own face to fall into something more static. "What?"
"At least two of those descriptors aren't true," you said quietly. Your eyes moved to your shoes. They were much easier to look at than him. "I just can't decide which ones."
"Hey," Hobi hummed, not shying away. He tentatively touched your chin before gripping it and redirecting your gaze to him. "You aren't giving yourself enough credit."
You chewed on your lip, searching his face for something you weren't even sure you'd find. "Why pick me? You watched us all. I wasn't the best. I wasn't the smoothest. I wasn't even the hottest if you wanted someone good looking for your video."
Hobi chuckled before dropping your chin and scooting so you sat shoulder to shoulder. "Want me to let you in on a secret?"
You nodded even though you were hesitant to hear what he had to say.
"It's not about being the best, or the smoothest," he said quietly. You watched in confusion as a blush began to color the tops of his ears. "And you should probably reevaluate the good-looking part."
You lifted your brows in surprise. This dancing sex God thought YOU were attractive? Well, I'll be damned.
"I picked you," he continued. "Because your shock at your own skills that day was a really amazing thing to watch. And I'll admit, I mostly did it because you thought I wouldn't."
You opened your mouth to speak but closed it again.
"Everyone can dance, Y/N," Hobi nodded. "It just matters if you want to try."
"There's at least a 70% chance that I'm going to make you look like an idiot tomorrow," you grumbled.
"And there's a 100% chance that I already make myself look like one every day," he grinned. "Who cares?"
"I mean everyone at the studio will be watching..."
"Don't look at them," he said firmly, causing your head to swivel in his direction. You locked eyes and nearly forgot how to breath. "Look at me."
The two of you remained locked in a staring contest, the room becoming significantly warmer for a different reason. Just as you were about to honestly ask Hobi, "What are we?" he conceded by reaching up and booping your nose.
"Did you just boop me?" you whispered.
"I don't know, did you think it was cute?" he laughed.
"Sure?" you smirked.
"Good," he nodded. Taking a moment longer to look at you, he finally pulled himself up and dangled a hand for you to take. "Should we get back to it?"
"Do we have to?"
"Yes," he nodded before a smile spread slowly across his face. "I have to start getting you prepared."
"For?" you asked, tilting your head. You had a funny feeling that he meant more than just the filming tomorrow.
"I'm thinking about taking up an instructor position here," he grinned. "And guess who's going to be my assistant for the foreseeable future?"

Hi , can I request any BTS member × sister reader angst to fluff scenario . Something like she started taking up activities of his interest so he will pay attention to her type. Just super angsty but with fluff ending
Hope this is okay for you! I went with J Hope since I don’t have any written for him yet.
Dance Lessons
“Sorry can’t make it. I’ll make it up to you! I promise.” You sighed as you read the text simply responding with an ‘okay’ before putting the phone back in your bag. This was the third time that your brother Hoseok had cancelled your plans together. He’d always say he’d make it up to you but that never came. Wanting to get out of the cafe before you started crying you quickly grabbed your things and headed for the door.
As you walked home you thought back to the last time you actually spent time with your brother. It was at least three months ago. The two of you went to a cooking class that you really wanted to attend. Even though he really didn’t want to go he went anyways. Then the time before that he took you to see a horror movie that you really wanted to see even though he really hates those kind of movies. The more you thought about it you realized that the two of you always do something you want to do. Even today you were going to have lunch at a cafe that he had repeatedly told you he didn’t like. “Maybe that’s why he keeps canceling.”, you thought to yourself. You keep making him do things he doesn’t like so of course he would try to get out of them.
Once home you were motivated by to find something the two of you could do that he actually likes. You thought about learning to rap but just the thought of having to be on a stage made you feel queasy. He really liked fashion so you thought maybe you could take him on a shopping spree but then you thought about your bank account and realized that would never happen.
Out of the corner of your eye you saw a photo hanging on the wall. A picture of a young Hobi smiling ear to ear after taking first place in a dance competition. Ever since he was little he always loved to dance. You weren’t nearly as coordinated as he was but you’d love to learn and some exercise couldn’t hurt you thought. So you googled nearby dance classes and found an option for a hip hop dance class that luckily had an opening. You filled out the online form to sign up and checked your email for the schedule. You were bouncing with excitement as you couldn’t wait to show your brother what you had learned.
The weeks went by and the dance class was harder than you thought it would be. But you were making progress. It was small but it was something. You hadn’t seen your brother more than once or twice in that time period so he had no idea what you were up to. You had decided that after todays class you were going to ask him to meet you at the local gym so you could show him what you had been working on. Unfortunately, your knee had other plans.
Somehow your leg slipped out from underneath you causing you to slip and twist your leg awkwardly. You’re not sure what happened but you heard a loud pop and then felt an intense burning in your knee. The dance instructor immediately called your mom since she was your emergency contact and before you knew it you were sitting in the emergency room. The doctor was showing you and your mom a copy of your X-ray that showed how you managed to pop your knee out of place. The damage was so severe that you were going to need surgery to correct it.
Just after the doctor left to prepare for the surgery the door opened and you figured it was your mom coming back after she had gone to grab a coffee but instead you found an out of breath Hoseok staring at you. He took one look and ran right to your bedside grabbing your hand, “Y/N what happened to you? Mom called and all she said was you were hurt and in the hospital. I was so worried about you.” You don’t knowing it was the pain or the nerves of surgery or just feeling his touch for the first time in weeks but the floodgates opened and tears started spilling from your eyes. “I’m sorry Hobi. I didn’t mean to worry you. I wanted to surprise you by learning how to dance so we could do it together and I slipped and hurt my knee. I miss spending time with you and I thought maybe you’d pay more attention to me if we started doing things you actually like to do.”, you said in between sobs.
Hoseok gently pulled you into a hug, “Y/N I love spending time with you. Even if we’re doing something I hate. Just seeing a smile on your face makes it worth it to me. I’m sorry I haven’t been spending as much time with you. I’ve just been so busy but I’m going to start making time.” You nodded in agreement while he embraced you. “Are you going to be here after my surgery?”, you asked. He gave you a classic Hobi smile, “Of course Y/N. You’re my baby sister. There’s nowhere else I’d rather be.”
Thankfully the surgery went great. When you woke up the first thing you did was look for your brother. You felt relieved when you saw him standing in the corner smiling and holding a giant stuffed unicorn that he quickly handed over to you. You spent two days in the hospital and he stayed with you the entire time except for when he went home to shower and change. He even insisted on being with your mom when she picked you up after you were discharged. Once at home he sat you down on the couch and grabbed you the fluffiest blanket you owned. Then he went into the kitchen and returned with a bunch of snacks and drinks to have while the two of you had a Harry Potter marathon. After the third movie ended you leaned over closer to your brother. Thank you Hobi. I really appreciate you spending time with me.”, you whispered taking his hand. He smiled, “No problem Y/N. I miss spending time with you too. I just can’t believe you took dance lessons to try and get my attention. I mean you can barely walk without getting hurt.” You rolled your eyes and laughed as he ducked trying to avoid the pillow you through at him. I’m that moment, even though your leg was in a brace and you were sore you were the happiest you’d been in a while.

Enjoy!
-Not a burden.-
He had successfully suppressed the fact that he was getting sick for three days in the hope that it would pass without genuinely thinking it – it was summer after all.
Who even got cold’s in the summer?
Him, apparently.
It was on day four that his cold truly sunk its claws in forcing to him leave for work early after coming to the realisation that he couldn’t stop sneezing and didn’t want to wake Kook and Tae – coincidentally it was also the fourth day since school had reopened, not that he was blaming his students or anything. Even if two or three of them had been suspiciously peaked and sniffly during dance practice. Now, half-way through day five, he was suffering in his office that he shared with the other dance instructors, grateful for the mostly quiet space so that he could mope without the headache he’d obtained getting any worse before his next classes. By the start of his second class he had taken to switching his water out for honeyed tea so that his voice didn’t give out on him while he taught, and he had managed to get some non-drowsy medicine during a break in his morning. So hopefully he would feel better later, or at least by tomorrow. It surely couldn’t be longer than that.
The timing was annoying, not that there was ever a time that getting a cold wasn’t annoying, but he was thankful that it only appeared to be settling in his head and not his chest. The last thing he needed was to be teaching dance classes while battling to breathe without coughing up a lung or something – if he had to choose between two evils, he could do a lot worse than a head cold.
Didn’t stop it from being uncomfortable though.
The days were warm, and the temperature only seemed to be rising. His excessive sweating because of it wasn’t helping in keeping his running nose in check and no matter how much he seemed to blow his nose – thankfully past him must have remembered to slip moisturised tissues into his bag at some point in the last few days – any progress that it made was destroyed by him sneezing. Sometimes, and this was becoming infuriatingly frustrating, he didn’t even sneeze. He would come close, so close, and then he’d lose it and be left a hot mess without even getting some type of relief out of it. He had spent the last ten minutes blowing his nose and still he could feel congestion building. His head was heavy, and his throat ached despite being practically coated in honey at this point.
If he could just go home, then he would be content. Sure he probably wouldn’t feel any better than he currently did, but at least he wouldn’t be dealing with hyperactive teenagers for the rest of the day. As much as he loved his students and loved the dance classes that he taught, the energy required was gradually killing him.
There was the creaking sound of a door opening, forcing Hoseok to glance up from his pity party of tea and tissues in case it was a student needing something during the break. Thankfully, it was just his best friend with a smile that was far too bright for the morning he’d just had.
“Seok-ah? Oh, there you are. We were supposed to meet in the contemporary studio like fifteen minutes ago.”
“Jimin, I couldn’t care less about reviewing that routine in this heat. It will likely be great with how much of a perfectionist you are.” He had meant for it to be just the right amount of teasing, but it had come out as more of a snappish retort. Like he had turned into some moody gremlin. Oh god, had he momentarily turned into Yoongi?
“Okaaay… Mr. Cranky, you could have just cancelled.” Jimin frowned, his tail swishing around his legs with growing annoyance. “I was waiting for you for nothing.”
Hoseok winced at the sharp look the hybrid sent his way as Jimin rounded the room to his own desk and pulled out his lunch. “Sorry. I should have messaged, but I honestly forgot all about it until now.”
“Really?” Jimin pouted, peering at his friend with wary eyes. “Is everything alright?”
“Mmm. I’ve got a cold and paired up with these heatwaves, it’s turning my head to mush.” Hoseok complained.
Jimin’s eyes softened with sympathy. It wasn’t often that Hobi got sick – literally out of their entire department he probably had the strongest immune system, but alas. Even the strongest of them fall at some point. “Why don’t you head out early?”
“It’s not bad enough for me to go home.” He shrugged, resting heavily in his palm. The hard wood of his desk was beginning to hurt his elbow, but he didn’t have the energy to shift into a more comfortable position. “Plus Jungkook is working on some commission projects at home, so I’ve been trying to stay out of his way.”
“You’d have to go home eventually.” The three of them lived together, it wasn’t like he wouldn’t see his partners at some point in the evening. “It might be better to just take it easy and rest.”
Hoseok sniffed meekly then gave a small head shake. “Taehyung has been swamped with his private studies with Yoongi – as in he sometimes doesn’t leave his little cave of spell books and crystals and herbs and all the other things that I’m worried might one day just collapse on him in that tiny study. I still have to go grocery shopping for dinner or maybe get some take out, I don’t think I can cook without potentially sneezing in it.”
Jimin looked like he was going to argue – his mouth pulling into that mildly angry pout – before he changed his mind, whipping out his phone and typing surprisingly quick with just one hand as the other grabbed chopsticks for him to start eating. “Get something delivered. There’s this really nice place that has the best soups, I’ll send you their details. They have other stuff too, but I usually order from them when I’m not feeling well or when Yoongi is away. It will open your sinuses right up and it tastes great – so like, a win-win situation.”
Maybe Jimin was onto something with that. He wouldn’t have to cook, and he could go to the store for groceries tomorrow when he would hopefully be feeling better. “That sounds like ..h’hh.. like a g- HA’shh’uh! H’ESHiuu!” he groaned, sniffling into his palm as he fumbled for his tissues. “Sorry. Good plad.”
“Best plan.” Jimin corrected, taking the moment to shovel food into his mouth while Hoseok blew his nose. Their break was almost over so he’d need the food if he wanted to survive the next three hours before school broke out. “Just.. take it easy.”
Hoseok didn’t think he really had a choice in the matter, his body was going to force him to whether he wanted to or not, unfortunately.
**
The rest of his day was uneventful. Boring yet still entirely exhausting. His classes had gone relatively smoothly despite the numerous breaks to blow his nose and him sounding a bit croaky towards the end, but they’d eventually ended, leaving him regretting his life choices for a few minutes before packing up his stuff. Then he’d made the drive home filled with teary yawns and blaring music to keep him from accidentally falling asleep. That was the last thing he needed to happen.
Once he had entered their apartment it was like he could finally embrace how tired he truly was, almost sinking to the floor when he struggled to remove his shoes for a minute. Then he shuffled straight to the bedroom, changing into some boxers and a loose shirt that probably belonged to Jungkook before falling face first into the pillows. He didn’t even bother to climb beneath the blankets – it was too hot to bother even if it was his exhaustion that had made the decision for him.
Vaguely he could hear Jungkook in the house, humming and singing as he worked on his paintings. It was unlikely that the hybrid would leave the chaotic corner of the living room that had momentarily turned into a studio and Tae would still be out for a few hours… Hoseok muffled a moan into the bedsheets before he pulled himself up once more just to collect his phone from his discarded pants pocket – going back a second time to collect his car keys as well to put on the bedside table before he forgot about them completely.
The ‘details’ Jimin had sent him earlier in the day was a single link to a website, but it was thankfully simple enough, even for his fogged mind, to put in a timed order that would arrive later. After setting an alarm two hours from now, Hoseok returned to his previous spot on the bed with just as much detachment in his fall as before.
He muffled coughs into the bedsheet, hoping it was quiet enough that Jungkook didn’t feel the need to investigate and then let his eyes fall shut with a final low groan.
**
And as quickly as they had shut, he was forcing them open once more. Although his eyelids did put up quite a fight, Hoseok woke up to his alarm cleaving a hole into his skull.
He wasn’t usually a grumpy person when waking up, but his head ached too much for him to not want to throw his phone across the room. He didn’t, obviously that would be outrageous, but as he managed to finally turn the alarm off he took a moment to breathe in the silence and just imagine how it would have felt to do it.
He cleared his throat with a cough that dwindled into a small fit that left him sniffling and swiping a wrist under his nose. Hoseok pushed himself to sit up all the while frowning at the thin throw blanket that someone must have draped over him during his nap. He hadn’t needed it, but his chest was warm at the thought of such small acts of care. He could almost imagine Jungkook having been the one to do so, he’d watched the hybrid tenderly care for an unaware Taehyung multiple times in the past already. It wasn’t hard to decipher how each one showed their affection.
Hoseok folded it up and tossed it onto his pillow before forcing himself to his feet. Immediately he could feel a shift of congestion in his sinuses that had him hitching into his palm before he pinched his nose, stifling three sneezes that left him breathless and unrelieved.
Thankfully he had some tissues in their bedside drawer that once he had used all of them he made sure to throw them away in the bathroom opposite their bedroom before washing his hands and splashing some water on his face. It didn’t help in changing the fact that his cheeks had lost some of their colour and his nose was beginning to capture a pink hue that was only growing more noticeable the longer he stared at his reflection.
“Hobi?”
Hoseok turned to the sound of Taehyung’s voice. The younger had clearly spoken from the bedroom so he took a final swipe at his nose, grimaced at himself, and then stepped into the hallway almost directly into his boyfriend. He had to turn last minute to avoid the full force of collision.
“There you are.” Tae sighed, moving closer until he could sink his face into Hoseok’s neck and wrap his arms around him. “You didn’t say bye this morning, I feel like I haven’t seen you properly in days.”
He tried not to feel too guilty about skipping out on his boyfriends before they woke up, but it wasn’t entirely on him that he’d missed Tae these last few days – the past week the younger had been quite literally burying himself in work until late. “Sorry. Jus’ had class stuff to do.” He cleared his throat again, flushing a little at how rough his voice sounded, but if Tae realised that it was from anything other than his recent sleep, he didn’t let it show.
“Must have been a long day if you decided to nap.” Tae teased, leading him to the lounge where Jungkook was still working, albeit with a cider in hand and a drying paintbrush in the other. “Jungkook said he didn’t even hear you come home.”
“Saw you on my bathroom break.” Jungkook murmured without taking his eyes off of his painting. “Do you think this is the right colour? Or should it be more of a peach? Damn, it should definitely be more peach.”
“I-hih- It looks good, Koo.” He shuffled a bit away from either of them and willed his nose to behave. They didn’t need to add worrying about him onto their list of things to do. So he lowered himself into the single seater chair and pulled out his phone at the convenient notification chime. “I –“ He smothered a yawn before he spoke again. “It was long. I ordered some food from this place that Jimin recommended because I was too tired to go shopping. ‘Says they’re good. It’s on its way soon.”
“Looks like you’re still tired.” Tae observed. “Thankfully it’s the weekend, so you can sleep in a bit and hopefully catch up on what you need.”
He had forgotten that he wouldn’t need to get up early. Relief flooded him at not having to force himself through studio classes for a third day of feeling like cotton had replaced his brain, because as much as he hoped, he definitely was not going to be better in the morning if he had felt worse after just a nap.
“Is it that noodle place?” Jungkook asked, finally twisting away from his work and letting Taehyung remove the brush from his hand to set it down in a paint splattered jar of water.
“Think so.” Hobi shrugged, his nose was threatening to run again, and he had to fight the urge to scrub at it. “ ‘Ordered a few things so we have a pick.”
Jungkook seemed pleased with that answer, pressing a quick kiss to Hoseok’s cheek before collapsing onto the sofa before downing his drink eagerly and proceeding to stare blankly at his work.
Tae joined him, laying so that his head rested in Jungkook’s lap and his feet barely dangling off of the edge of the couch. “We can catch up on some shows then while we wait. Come lay with me hyung.”
Hoseok brushed him off with a tight chuckle and settled back into his seat, running his hand through his hair with loose fatigue. “I think I’d start overheating if I cuddle with either of you furnaces.”
He hoped that they didn’t call him out on how the temperature had dropped drastically already. Thankfully Jungkook was too distracted, and Taehyung had learnt not to be too overly demanding, especially when it came to others space. So all he received as response was a heavy pout from the warlock as he fumbled the remote and turned their tv on to some nature show.
To be honest, he thought he was doing pretty well at keeping his symptoms hidden. Sure he was occasionally wiping his nose with his hand or wrist, which was frustrating because he couldn’t so much as sniff without Jungkook hearing him with how close they were, but he seemed to be getting away with it.
Or at least he had been.
It was about an hour into the mindless show Taehyung had chosen [some African wildlife thing that was all blurring together in a kill or be killed cycle] that Jungkook decided he was going to start painting again. No matter how much Tae complained about being slid off of his lap onto a pillow, the hybrid seemed obsessively fixated on getting his commissions done. It wouldn’t have been a problem, Hoseok usually loved watching Jungkook paint, but his nose had a different perspective the second he smelt the brutal stench of turpentine filling the space. Burning into his sinuses and making his eyes tear up with the need to sneeze. He would be able to excuse one maybe, but the building tickle was savage enough for him to know it wasn’t going to be an easy escape.
His breath had already stuttered audibly enough that he knew he wasn’t going to be able to hold back anything if he stayed seated there. So he hastily got to his feet, his hand hovering over his face as some type of shield and muttered a weak excuse of making some tea. As soon as his back was turned and he was heading for the kitchen, his nose was pinched shut and he was stifling a frustratingly wet fit between his fingers.
It was disgusting. He was disgusted with himself. Even as he actively tried to clean up by blowing lightly into his hand and letting the result be washed away in the sink. He tried to get his breathing under control, yet it seemed that the burn that had appeared in his sinuses wasn’t going to be rid of so easily and he was forced to try and hold back another as he dried his hands.
Only to pitch forward again with barely managing to stifle from the force of the sneeze. It hadn’t even helped; it had just left him itchy and teary eyed.
“Bless you, Hyung.”
Hoseok quite literally jumped at the soothing, rich voice. How mortifying. Tae smiled softly.
“You don’t look like you’re feeling well. Do you need a tissue?”
He rested a hand on his chest in a useless attempt to calm his racing heart while he waved the other in a vague ‘so-so’ gesture before catching two more sneezes into his palm. He was sniffing a bit more than usual after that but otherwise tried to regain composure. Not that Taehyung was believing him for a second with his bemused gaze trained on what Hoseok could only assume was his ever-reddening nose in desperate need of attention.
“Jus’ -snnf- sobething in the air, I thingk.”
“Hobi… You’ve been sniffling for days.” Tae said gently. “You don’t usually try and hide things, so don’t start being difficult about it now. Bun and I do that enough for all of us.”
“I-“ His breath caught in his throat, and he stuttered through it long enough to grow flushed as he twisted away. “H’IIEUSHH!”
Taehyung stepped close, so that his chest brushed up against Hoseok’s back, his arm coming around his waist to rub gentle circles over Hoseok’s stomach. The dancer jolted at his boyfriends cold hands momentarily meeting his skin as they slipped under his shirt, but he soon melted into it. So much for wanted to deal with his problems alone, apparently he was an open book. Yet he couldn’t bring himself to mind so much as he gradually sunk back into Tae’s chest. The younger had to strengthen his grip on his boyfriend’s waist to keep him from falling.
“Come lie with us. You know we wouldn’t do anything to make you uncomfortable, right?” Hoseok could feel Taehyung’s breath by his ear as he swiped his wrist under his nose – he definitely needed that tissue now. “We haven’t actually made you uncomfortable right? Because you can tell us if we do.”
“No. No, I just thought…” Hobi pulled out from the embrace just enough to turn and rest his head on the warlock’s shoulder. “You’re both busy. I didn’t want to make you worry when you have enough on your plates.”
“Yes, because having our boyfriend that usually tells us every aspect of his day and wellbeing deciding to suddenly hide it wasn’t going to make us worry at all.” Tae murmured but his voice lilted with humour. “You don’t need to do that. Now come… I can hear Kook shuffling around out there and he really needs to take a break from those paintings before he loses all sense of colour again.”
Despite his discomfort Hoseok couldn’t help but let out a small, tired laugh as he got dragged back to their couch, witnessing Jungkook gnaw at the end of his paintbrush without a care of the drying paint there. The turpentine was thankfully closed again but the scent still clung to the air enough for Hoseok’s sniffling to increase again.
“Hyung is sick.” Tae announced, forcing the eldest to settle in the centre of the sofa before he went to retrieve Jungkook’s paintbrush from him once more. “And you need to stop. It’s family time now.”
Jungkook sniffed petulantly at the latter statement, but joined Hobi on the couch, hugging his knees into his chest before leaning into the other.
“I had a feeling you were. I kept having to replace tissues in your bag.”
Replace… Ah. That makes sense. Of course Jungkook had been the one to hide the packs of tissues in his work bag, Hoseok was giving himself way too much credit by thinking he would ever remember to do that. “Why did you sta-ahh-rt ..snf.. doing that anyway? You did it before I even began to feel bad.”
The hybrid shrugged, pressing his nose into Hoseok neck which was seemingly becoming his favourite action. Jimin said it was something about his scent being ‘clean’, but he wasn’t complaining if sniffing him made his boyfriend at ease. Although he couldn’t imagine him smelling like anything but sweat and sickness right now.
“You were going to bed earlier and snoring a little.” Jungkook replied as if it were obvious. Which for some reason made Hoseok even more embarrassed about the situation.
Taehyung even hummed in agreement, nudging Hoseok in the side playfully as he sat on the other side of him, and finger snapped a tissue box into existence on his lap. He tried not to seem too impressed at how much better he was doing at simple magic like that, cutting Hoseok off before he could even think to comment on it.
“No need to blush, Sunshine.” Tae pressed a kiss to his check. “Your snores are very cute.”
Hoseok groaned, pushing them both away as they burst into giggles. “You’re hor-ih’hh…ugh. Horrible. Both of you.” He sniffed with annoyance and claimed a tissue, rubbing his nose with enough force that he winced at the liquid sound it made.
Yet his actions, despite his silent plea for reprieve, did nothing on helping the itch in his sinuses loosen and he was left to blow his nose with little relief. Not that blowing it did much either. He was still equally as congested and runny as he was before. He honestly didn’t understand the logic.
He went to blow again, managing to plough through at least four or five more tissues and only on the last one did the tickle become unbearable enough to tip him over the edge. Forcing him to rip out an abrupt sneeze into his already over used tissue.
“You don’t sound well at all.” Jungkook spoke softly, more to himself than anyone else. His hand trailing up Hoseok’s spine while Taehyung reached over with a new tissue, trading it with the one that was clutched in their partners grasp. “Tae’s right. It’s family time, so let’s go to bed. We can turn on the AC if you’re still hot and we can just relax together. I’ll wait up for our food if you fall asleep again and just bring it there for us to eat.”
He wanted to decline. After all they could relax here… Yet he couldn’t bring himself to mutter the words. He’d been dreaming of his bed the whole day; he’d be foolish to deny it now after the offer has been so easily presented.
“Delivery shouldn’t be much longer.” Taehyung mused, leaning back into his boyfriend. “How about this. You two go shower and wash off all that sweat and paint fumes. I will handle the food when it comes. That way Bun can’t sneak in and do more painting.” His tone didn’t leave room for argument and Hoseok couldn’t lie that he found it a little attractive. “I’ll also make some of that tea that Hobi so evidently forgot about a few minutes ago.”
“ You dragged me away.” Hoseok denied weakly as he yawned.
“Sure sure.” But the teasing grin’s only continued to grow on his boyfriends faces.
**
The shower was pretty much hell – even with Jungkook having joined him. The steam may have cleared his congestion momentarily, but it opened way for a string of continuous fits of sneezes that would have even put Jungkook in allergy season to shame. The hybrid tried his best to help though, soaping his boyfriend up before himself and then moving to quickly wash Hoseok’s hair while keeping a steady hand on the elder so that he didn’t slip or sway.
By the time they were finished, and Hoseok was on their bed in fresh pyjama’s having his hair ruffled and blow dried, his head was throbbing with the pulse of his heart in his ears and the pressure in his clouded mind was so heavy he couldn’t even keep from drooping against his boyfriend – probably making it a little harder to dry his hair but Jungkook didn’t utter a complaint. He just scratched at the dancers nape and tried to work faster.
Before he knew it he was being settled under the covers with a small display of some of the food he’d ordered being placed around him. Tae and Kook joined him on either side sipping steaming cups of tea that he himself didn’t have the will power to stomach. Instead he was slowly spooning a broth into his mouth despite his lack of appetite.
He had to give kudos to Jimin’s recommendation because even though he wasn’t at all hungry, the food was decent enough that he kept eating it. Every spoonful or so later Jungkook would slip him a bite of rice or meat to go with his own meal and Taehyung was quick to discard or hand him tissues when he couldn’t sniff anymore.
He didn’t participate in much else other than eating since his energy was depleting drastically even though it was barely 7pm, but he listened to Tae tell them about his day. Embraced the domesticity of him speaking about the new things he’d learnt or accomplished while Jungkook chimed in with praise and reassurance when needed. Taehyung even gave a swift example of summoning a portion of his magic which formed a bright purple orb in the palm of his hand, but let it dissipate when the light had triggered yet another exhausted sneeze from Hoseok when he’d lent closer to see it better. All that, embarrassment aside, had only prompted Tae to reach over and hold a tissue to Hoseok’s nose, telling him to blow and promising to show him again when he was feeling better.
“Are you tired hyung?” Jungkook shifted so that Hoseok was partially leaning onto his chest while they sat perched against their pillows. He continued after receiving a small, croaky hum. “Let Taehyungie get you some medicine first, then you can lie down properly.”
“Mm ’sorry.” Hoseok reached for another tissue as Taehyung gathered their dishes and leftovers before leaving. “Said I wasn’t gonna make you worry, but now you’re distracted from work.”
The hybrid frowned and burrowed even closer to his sick hyung, pulling him tightly into his arms so that his mouth could press gentle kisses against the side of Hoseok’s neck. “I’m not distracted. I need breaks too, as much as I hate to admit it. Plus Tae’s right, evenings are family time and that would still be the case whether you were at full health or not.” He watched as the other wiped at his nose with exhaustion weighing down his movements. “But you don’t need to feel guilty about it, Hobi. You look after us so well when we feel bad, it’s only natural that we do the same. That we want to, because it’s you and we love you.”
Hoseok let out a heavy breath and relaxed his body, his muscles immediately quaking at the realisation that he’d been beyond tense before. He wasn’t a burden. They loved him. Which he knew, obviously, but it was always nice to be reminded. Especially when he would start getting silly idea’s into his head.
“Do we have-!?”
Jungkook and Hoseok both turned to look at the door, trailing Taehyung’s booming broken question. Then the fluffy haired brunette appeared by the door with a sheepish smile and hands full of bottled medication. “Sorry, I momentarily forgot hyung’s headache.” He moved to set his findings down in Jungkook’s lap, sitting beside the younger while inspecting one of the smaller bottles labels. “I found some of that ointment that Jin and Namjoon made for us a while back. It was made for me I think, but it can be used with Hobi too so… “
“What were you asking earlier?”
“Ah, I couldn’t find any more of that herbal lotion that helped sooth pain. I got the cold medicine though, and some water.”
Hoseok mumbled a soft ‘thank you’ as Jungkook soothingly rubbing circles into his chest while reminding Tae that they hadn’t restocked what he had been looking for yet – no doubt the young warlock would now be adding it to his ever-growing list of ‘things to do immediately’.
“Koo, unbutton hyung’s shirt for me.” Taehyung spoke softly as he shook out two pills from one of the bottles and slipped them into Hoseok’s mouth, quickly following that by opening and pressing the bottle of water to his lips for him to sip and swallow. It was a bit rough on his throat, but Hoseok had never been fond of syrups, so he would deal with the little ache that the tablets would soon sooth. Jungkook worked nimbly, peering over his boyfriends shoulder to find each button as his arms still encased the elder. It was soft and Taehyung had to take the moment to watch fondly as Hoseok yawned and rubbed at his nose with the tissue that had still been in his hand. Taehyung couldn’t help but lean in and press a kiss the elders forehead. “You can go to sleep if you need to baby. I’m just going to rub some stuff on your chest. It should help you feel better soon.”
“Head is so heavy, I don’t kdow if I cadn.”
“Well this might help then.” Jungkook reassured, running a hand through Hoseok’s hair.
Taehyung didn’t hesitate in opening the small bottle he’d been reading earlier – an ointment that worked just a little bit better than the standard store bought VapoRub that Hoseok usually got. He scooped out a little, letting Hoseok blow his nose before he smeared it on the reddening skin. He took some more and started by rubbing it between his palms to warm it up then spread it all over his boyfriends chest. Usually he would take his time massaging it into the skin, but with how heavy-lidded Hoseok’s eyes were drooping Taehyung thought working fast was probably the best route.
He scooped out some more and lathered it from his boyfriends chest, up to his neck so that the familiar tan skin gleamed before he closed the bottle and Jungkook started buttoning up the shirt again.
“Do you-oh my..H’h.. Eh’heitch’uh… H’iitCHH’ew… Shit, sorry.” Jungkook sniffed, flushing at having sneezed into Hoseok’s shoulder. “That stuff is really strong. ”
“I cad’t smell id.” Hoseok pouted, not even fazed at being accidentally used as a tissue.
Taehyung waved his hands at them, shooing them off of the bed just long enough to drag the blankets down and help Hoseok settle into the centre again, elevating his upper body slightly with some pillows. “I can put some more on your nose if you want. Maybe you’re too stuffy for it to work fast.”
“Ha’d bme a tissue.”
Jungkook moved the box to his lap as he climbed in next to his boyfriend, handing him one before blowing his own nose quietly to remove the little itch that the scent had triggered. Hoseok rolled it into a point that had his partners both raising a brow, watching him fail at trying to get himself to sneeze.
“You don’t like inducing like that.” Taehyung stated with lilting concern as he sat down, and Hoseok groaned. He took the tissue away, folding it neatly in half before setting it in his lap. “Let me try to help.”
It started with a simple massage of sorts. It wasn’t something he did often, but he had read up on it before. Taehyung ran his fingers over Hoseok’s cheeks and forehead, working in small circular motions. It was definitely a longer process and his heart ached at how warm and swollen his partner was beneath his fingertips.
It must have been a combination of his actions plus the residue of ointment on his hands that had Hoseok soon frantically pushing them away with hitching breath. Nothing seemed to be happening other than a few gasps and a frustrated moan, so Jungkook took the tissue from Tae’s lap and let it over Hoseok’s nose. Forcing the sick man’s own breaths to heat his face while Jungkook began to massage and squish at his boyfriends full nose.
He had just moved to replace the tissue after having pinched and wiped up the mess they had coaxed out when Hoseok pitched forward, belatedly raising his hands as a congested sneeze ripped from his throat, only seeming to trigger more as his passages emptied.
“Bless you. Bless you.” Taehyung took some tissues from Jungkook and immediately took Hoseok’s hands to wipe clean while Jungkook dived in to hold fresh tissues to his face, catching the next round of sneezes.
“I-h’heh HE’ASHHU! Hh’h’ha..H’ATSHOO…H’Hh’hnn… …Htch’u-AT’CHH…h’h…uh’h.. H’ETCH’UHH-“
“Jesus baby.” Jungkook could feel the moisture seeping through the tissue. He switched for another, not quite catching it in time and forfeiting his arm to a bit of the thick spray before catching them in his shielding hand once more. “Breathe a bit.”
“H’h’HAH… …H’ih--HE’NGCHH’UH---H’ATCHEE…… A’TCHIEW-HA’GCHew… h’AGTCHU!!” Hoseok was panting. The itch was still there but it seemed like he’d gotten most of it out. Into the hands of his boyfriend, much to his own embarrassment. “So’ah..ugh. Sorry.”
“Don’t apologise.” Jungkook smiled, moving the tissues again for Taehyung to now replace them with his own tissued hand.
“Blow.”
There was no point in hesitating, so Hoseok did as he was told. His head and throat throbbed, and he had to take a breather mid blow but eventually he was content enough to lean back and let his boyfriends curl into either side of him. Sure he still couldn’t breathe from both nostrils, but it was better than before. Taehyung even put a little more of that ointment on his nose and Jungkook was right, it was strong and had sent him into another small fit that was thankfully less severe than the previous one. But it had exhausted him in such a way that he was finally able to get some sleep.
The next time he managed to be woken up was by a heavy stream of midday light invading from their cracked open curtains and Jungkook’s jolting frame from where he was huddled beside him as the hybrid sneezed thickly into the deteriorating supply of tissues.

They Reject You (Hyung Line)- Part Two
A/N: Tumblr finally allowed me to put gifs!!!!!! Also, if you find Yoongi's and Namjoon's part short, that was intentional. I wanted to keep the suspense till the third part, which is gonna be the last one for hyung line 😉. Hope you enjoy!
Jin
You have been avoiding Jin. Why? Because even though you're an adult, you feel embarrassed and hurt and don't know how to deal with the pain. You can't just bring yourself to suck it up and pretend that you're fine. Worst of all, pretending does not work with Jin. He just knows.
Just like how he knows that your excuses of why you won't be able to meet up with him, are just that; excuses.
Initially, he was fine with it, knowing it's normal for anyone to want their space and time. But as days went by, his discomfort kept increasing. His urge to just wrap you in a hug and never let go kept intensifying. Most importantly, there was this urgent need to apologise for not knowing what to say to your confession.
The confession had indeed caught him off guard but even then, you deserved better than a jumble of words. He can only imagine how terrifying it must be for you, someone he knows to be an overthinker, to confess to him. He knows you must have analysed and played every scenario in your mind before letting the words slip out. He also knows that confessing must have been the last option for you.
Which is why his words before and after your confession, make him feel angry at himself. But then he didn't know any better, did he?
However, now he does.
After a whole month of you ignoring him, dodging his calls and not responding to texts, he decides to take matters into his own hands.
Standing outside of your class, he patiently (impatiently) waits for the bell to ring, so that he can finally talk to you. When the bell does ring, he straightens and stands there watching as slowly people start to leave.
After a while, he spots you with a friend, chatting animatedly about something.
The sound of your name leaves his lips and your body freezes. You take a deep breath, before turning towards him and greeting him with a small smile.
By the look on your face, he just knows.
He knows that you want to greet him enthusiastically, want to go on a rant about your physics professor, want to be the casual and carefree version of you with him. But your eyes tell him, that you can't bring yourself to be.
He returns your smile and you know that he's aware of your emotional turmoil. You feel your heart ache at the thought of it.
"Can I talk to you for a moment?" He asks in a timid voice that does not sound like his, at all.
You contemplate for a moment before nodding with a soft smile and excusing yourself. When you step towards him so as to not block the entrance, you take notice of the way he fidgets with his fingers. Your fingers itch to take a hold of his, but you know you shouldn't. You shouldn't allow yourself to feel his warmth because you know your heart will desperately hope for his comfort to mean more than it does. For you to have him in ways that you now know, you can't.
"How have you been?" His throat bobs as the words leave his mouth.
"Eh, you know exams and assignments, nothing new," you shrug. "What about you?"
"Can't really say fine," he replies with eyes that shine with words and emotions he can't express. Your features soften at his response. You know this isn't easy on him either.
"I'm sorry for making things messy–"
"Don't you dare say that," Jin's firm voice cuts you off.
You mentally scold yourself for your heart skipped a few beats at how kind and loving Jin is. It only reminds you why you need some time away from him.
Sighing, you give him a tender smile. "I know this isn't anyone's fault but it's still difficult for the both of us. But I just need some time to move on, just till then?"
You see the way Jin's eyes reflect both pain, longing and understanding. "Can I get a hug, at least?"
A part of you immediately feels the need to say 'no' to his request. You don't want to feel his warmth. You're scared it would ruin any progress that you have made. But then you really do want to hug your best friend because you have missed him.
This is why folks, you should not fall for your best friend. Too much drama.
Making a quick decision and choosing not to overthink any further, you embrace him in a hug. A surprised gasp leaves Jin's lips, which is soon followed by a satisfied sigh and arms wrapping around you.
The smell of your shampoo evades his senses and his eyes close automatically, as he basks in the familiarity and comfort that comes with you. Fuck, he missed you.
His nose gently snuggles against your hair and he takes a deep breath and he wonders what it would be like to wake up next to you, like this. All snuggled up, you in his arms and his nose buried in your hair. However, the thought is gone when he realises the suddenness of it.
Where did it come from?
He does not get enough time to gather his thoughts as you gently part from the hug and sigh. For the briefest of moments, his eyes drop to your lips and he feels a weird sensation in his body.
"I'll have to leave for the next class," you keep your voice soft knowing how tender the moment is. Or maybe it's your heart that's tender.
He, however, does not know how to respond. His mind feels all fogged up and he feels frozen. All he comes up with is a nod and he tries to look as sincere and in the moment as he can so that it does not worry you.
When you turn around to leave, his eyes linger on your retreating figure and he
feels his heart scream at him to go back into your arms and to never let go.
Yoongi
Y/N: Hey, can we raincheck? I've got a meeting to attend.
Yoongi looks at the screen and sighs. Well, if it isn't the fourth time that you have cancelled. Something that makes it pretty obvious to him that you're doing everything in your power to avoid him.
He knows it's because of what happened on the last date. Thinking back on it, he thinks he hasn't been as honest with you as you have been with him.
Well, technically, he did say the truth. But then when the truth isn't explained, it can often be misinterpreted. Which again is his fault and he knows that.
He knows that he kind of wasn't able to express his exact emotions (because when has he ever been able to do that), but maybe you should not just straight out ignore him like this.
It makes him feel guilty about his words.
He wishes he had worded it in a better way. Wishes, he had told you that he wasn't expecting to get married this soon and that he could not let himself relax into the idea of getting married.
But then anyone would be shocked if they were to wake up one day and realise that they are getting married to someone they don't even know properly.
It's not like he didn't know that this is how it was going to be. He just didn't know that it was going to be this soon. He just assumed that it would be somewhere in his late thirties. Definitely not in his twenties.
Yoongi: Are you free tomorrow?
Now, that is very different from the 'okay' he usually sends you. This might also be the first time he has let it show that he too, wants to meet you.
Your response comes to him after ten minutes.
Y/N: I don't think I will be free till next week.
Well, then.
Yoongi: so the week after?
He responds instantly.
Y/N: I'll have to check my schedule. I'm not really sure.
Yoongi's frustration gets the better of him.
Yoongi: Can we please just meet up and talk?
The words on the screen stare at you causing nervous butterflies to fly in your stomach. The butterflies are, however, soon followed by a sinking feeling when you realise what meeting up would mean.
Somewhere, somehow you'd have to address what happened during the last date. You, confessing to him and then him telling you that he does not feel the same.
Every time you recall that scene, your mind and heart, hurts. It makes you pity the situation you both find yourselves in.
It also makes you feel guilty that despite not liking you, he has to marry you. It makes you feel as if you're trapping him in a lifelong bond when he deserves better. Not to mention, how your minimum expectations might always remain fulfilled. How can they be met when there is no love?
Time stops when you suddenly have the realisation that both of you deserve better. You deserve to be married to someone you love. Yoongi deserves to be married to someone he loves and wants. You both should not have to wake up next to each other and feel like the relationship is a chore.
Fuck, you can't get married to him. You need to do something.
But you know there's no way either of you can talk yourselves out of this arrangement by simply talking about it to your parents. But there has to be some way.
Maybe you and Yoongi will be able to come up with an idea, together.
Y/N: a meeting of mine got cancelled.
Y/N: I'm free tomorrow.
Namjoon
Namjoon has a lot going on right now.
Exams, assignments, projects. These things in themselves are tiring. To add to that is the emotional turmoil he is facing. He has to pretend that he's not feeling guilty as fuck in front of his best friend as if he didn't just crush the said best friend's sister's heart, a week ago in the middle of a party.
And even though it's been a week, your words still haunt him. The look in your eyes and the way you looked so broken yet angry. All because of him.
He also can't believe that you had to watch him with other girls on more than one occasion. He does not know how you managed to pretend that everything was fine and went as long as you did, without snapping. He honestly has no idea how you did it but he's glad it's done. Now that the cat is out of the bag, things should be fine with time.
His line of thought is proven to be wishful when he walks inside Yoongi's dorm and notices you standing there.
You look just as caught off guard as Namjoon feels. However, after a few moments, you school your features and pretend to be nonchalant towards his presence and focus your attention solely on Yoongi.
"Yoongi, did you find the book? I'll have to leave for my class," your voice breaks the silence, making Yoongi look at you.
Namjoon does not know if he should be grateful for Yoongi's presence or not. On one hand, Yoongi being here is a good thing because that way you and Namjoon aren't alone in the room. On the other, Namjoon is sure Yoongi can feel the way the atmosphere turned tense from the moment of his arrival.
"I told you, I'm looking for it," he grumbles in an annoyed tone. "I swear I kept it on the table."
Yoongi misplacing things isn't new at all. But what is new is how his sister and best friend remain silent instead of making fun of him.
You and Namjoon when together, are usually a pain in the ass for Yoongi, always teaming up against him whenever the chance arises and him forgetting where he keeps his things, is sure, one. But today, there seems to be no intention of pulling his leg. If the two of your body language weren't weird enough, this behaviour surely is and makes it obvious to him that something is wrong.
However, what he has no idea. But he thinks it's none of his business. You both are adults and if there's something wrong, you two should be able to solve it on your own.
Looking around for the said book a little more, Yoongi huffs. A huff that conveys his frustration and the fact that he's about to give up on his search for the object.
"Go to your class, I'll find it by today," his next words confirm this.
You roll your eyes to let him know that you're annoyed but not surprised. "I need it by today, don't forget that."
He waves his hand in a dismissing tone. "Got it. Now shoo."
You collect your belongings and leave the room without paying Namjoon any further attention. Your refusal to acknowledge his presence hurts him in a way that has him itching to reach out to you. But he knows he can't do that. Not after everything.
However, after your departure, the silence that he is met with is even more suffocating. It's one of those silences that Yoongi allows to linger to allow Namjoon to talk if he wants to. If not, that's fine too.
Namjoon decides on taking the opportunity and chooses to be honest. Because he does not how long can he go like this without having an outburst. "I need to tell you something."
"Go on," Yoongi replies with a shrug as if he did not see this coming.
Hoseok
You and Hoseok have remained friends.
Initially, it was quite difficult for you. Your mind couldn't help but come up with scenarios where he reciprocated your feelings and you two were happy with each other.
But since that cannot be the case, you had to move on. And what better way to move on, than registering on a dating site, right?
So, that's what you did. You opened a tinder account and went on dates. After two catfish cases and four failed dates, you finally found one guy you liked. Someone, who's your type and someone you can hold a genuine conversation with.
Although, the two of you are not in an official relationship, yet. You'd like to think that you are headed there. Slowly but gradually.
You two are at a stage where you both can talk about anything with each other like friends do but at the same time flirt, kiss and go on dates. It's just perfect and light.
Which is why you didn't think twice before asking if he would like to join you as your plus-one, at a friend's birthday party. That way you would get to introduce him to your friends and vice versa.
Much to your delight, he seemed excited at the prospect of meeting your friends.
Which leads you here, in the middle of a club, with your close group of friends and Henry.
After some time of dancing and swaying your hips to the beat, you decide to head to the bar to get yourself a drink to quench your thirst. It's when you are waiting for your drink that you hear the sound of your name which causes you to freeze. It's not so much about your name being called, rather it's about the voice that called your name.
"Ho-Hoseok?" You stutter the name out, genuinely surprised to find him here.
"Hey," he smiles at you with the same amount of surprise and glee. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm here for a friend's birthday," you reply, trying to relax your features and return his smile. "What about you?"
"I'm here with Jimin. Just wanted to have some fun for the weekend," his voice gets a little louder when the music turns into a more upbeat one.
As soon as the words are out of his mouth, another figure approaches the both of you. Jimin.
He, too, looks pleasantly surprised to see you. "Y/N! Did not expect to see you here."
"Jimin!" You exclaim, now feeling some of the discomfort evaporating. "Everyone's idea of fun weekends really has come down to alcohol huh?" You tease lightly.
"To be fair–"
"Y/N?" An arm comes to rest on your back and you recognise the voice to be Henry's.
Shit, this is going to be awkward.
Now that Hoseok and Henry are right in front of each other, you find yourself feeling anxious about how the whole encounter between them will go. You know that you have to introduce them but how do you introduce Henry to Hoseok?
Most importantly, you don't want to give away the impression that you're dating Henry solely, to get over Hoseok. Because although it might have started that way, gradually you did find yourself developing a genuine interest in Henry.
You turn a bit to focus your attention on him and soften when you notice the concern in his eyes. He must have come looking for you, after noticing that you were taking so long.
"Henry, this is Hoseok and Jimin." You introduce him to your two friends. "And guys, this is Henry."
As Hoseok shakes hands with the said man, he can't help but take notice of the palm that still rests on your back. It somehow gives off the impression that there's more to the two of you than just friends. Don't ask him how he knows that, he just does. Maybe it's because he's a social butterfly and has interacted with way more people than he can count or maybe it's because he's a dancer and has a good read of people's body language.
"Hoseok is my dance trainer, that's how we became friends." You add hoping that that much information is enough and that you'd not have to elaborate on how you and Henry know each other.
"Ah right, babe! I remember you mentioning your dance classes." He then turns to Hoseok with a genuine smile on his face that shows that he's delighted to meet him and put a face to the name.
However, you wince internally at the use of the name. Shit, you think that the usage of that term is pretty self-explanatory and also, embarrassing. At least, in this context.
The word does not escape Hoseok's attention but he chooses to ignore it.
"Care to tell me what she says about my dance classes? I'm a sucker for authentic feedback," he jokes in hopes that he still has his bright smile on when in reality he feels confused and has no idea how to navigate this situation.
"All good things, I assure you," Henry says, with a small chuckle.
"And for Jimin, he is a friend of Hoseok's and that's how we became friends," you complete your introduction and pray to whatever higher power there is, to not make things any more awkward. Although, you're sure you're the only one who's feeling the awkwardness of the whole situation.
"Tsk tsk," Jimin tuts, pretending to be disappointed. "Tell him how you know us, but don't tell us how you met him. I see how it is."
Oblivious to your discomfort, Henry lets out a small laugh at your friend's teasing. "Let's just say we met by chance and clicked."
Jimin lets out a low whistle. "That tells me you two are not just friends."
At this, Henry's brow furrows a little in confusion. He thought these two were your friends. Do they not know that the two of you have been dating for some time?
He looks at you in concern when he realises that Hoseok and Jimin might not be a part of the friend group you are here with. That maybe, you meeting these two here was purely by chance and maybe he has run his mouth without checking whether you feel comfortable with them knowing or not.
His heart sinks when he realises that you have an expression of unease on your face which confirms his suspicions.
Not knowing what he can do to let you know that he's sorry, he settles for squeezing your hand. And it does give you enough comfort and courage to answer Jimin's question.
"I guess you can say so," you say with a shy chuckle. Because how else is someone supposed to respond to the question?
Jimin, thankfully looks elated at the revelation. "Damn, that's cool. I'm glad for the both of you."
Hoseok does not know what to say so he simply nods. Loads of questions and thoughts run through his head. One of the main things he finds himself wondering about is whether this Henry guy treats you right or not. However, he knows that he is not in a position to ask that.
So he watches. Watches and tries to decipher if this guy is any good for you. He is aware that it's quite wrong to judge the guy when he's meeting him for the first time but that awareness isn't enough to stop him.
Much to his delight (or dismay), this Henry guy does seem to be someone genuine. Which stirs another kind of discomfort in Hoseok's stomach. A feeling he realises, he can't quite describe and hence, chooses to ignore it.
"How long have you two been dating?" Jimin asks and a part of Hoseok mentally pats Jimin on the back for asking the question.
"How long have you two been dating?" Jimin asks and a part of Hoseok mentally pats Jimin on the back for asking the question.
"A few weeks," you take your ordered drink and take a sip. The lightly sweet taste greets your tongue and helps your jaw muscles relax.
Any further questions that Jimin might have, remain unasked as you notice your drunk friend wildly waving her hand in the air, towards your direction to get your attention. When she notices that she has your attention, she motions you to come to the dance floor all too excitedly.
You smile a little at your friend's antiques and make a note to thank her later for saving you from this situation. Lifting your arm a little, you wave back at her.
"Brie is calling us. We should get going." You inform the two guys in front of you. "See you later?"
Jimin and Hoseok both nod with smiles, not wanting to hold the two of you back any longer.
With a drink in one hand and Henry's hand in the other, the two of you bid your goodbyes.
Hoseok looks at your linked arms and there's a feeling he does not want to name. He tries to play it off by telling himself that it's just him being a protective friend. Nothing more, nothing less. Although, he does not know if his denial is because he isn't brave enough to face his emotions or because it is the only choice he is left with.
Whatever it might be, he hopes that alcohol would somehow manage to take these thoughts away from him and hopefully, he will forget all about this encounter when he wakes up tomorrow.

Choreo
Pairing: Estelle/Kyra ft BTS
Series: BTS Girlfriends
Synopsis: Kyra and Estelle meet for the first time.
Estelle watched the dance practice with a gentle smile on her lips, the new dance instructor was a short woman with bright red curls who seemed to boss the whole room around.
While Hoseok could be a strict instructor, even he was coping the harsh end of this instructors commands.
By the time a break rolled around, Jungkook and Taehyung looked ready to run out of the building.
“Food!” The maknae announced, rushing towards her with a massive smile.
“Hi, Kook,” Estelle greeted softly as the boys approached, “Looks tough,”
“This new choreographer is harsh," Jin mumbled.
Estelle noticed that Hoseok hadn't approached, instead he was talking with the new dancer and the interpreter. Her brows furrowed together before she looked at Yoongi, who was smirking.
"Does he..?" Estelle whispered.
"It's very obvious," Yoongi chuckled and kissed her forehead.
Sitting down the food, the boys watched as the other two approached them. Hoseok seemed to be the only one that wasn't exhausted, even Jimin and Jungkook looked out of it.
"I'm on a diet," The maknae sighed.
Estelle raised an eyebrow, "I watched you and Arabella eat an entire convenience store last night,"
"You were with her!" Jin laughed loudly, pointing at Jungkook, "We knew it!"
The new choreographer looked lost, brows furrowed together as she watched everyone talk. Estelle looked at her, a warm smile on her features.
"I can speak English," Estelle stated.
"Uh..," She blinked, her accent was heavy and strong, "I.. I don't know why I thought you couldn't, your..,"
"It's alright," Estelle laughed softly, "I'm Estelle, I'm Yoongi's-"
"Wife," Namjoon cut in, "He won't let us forget it,"
"You speak English!?"
Namjoon had a smirk on his face as he ate his face, looking away. Estelle only shook her head, looking back at the new instructor.
"I'm Kyra, you can probably tell I'm from Ireland," Kyra explained, "I'll be honest, I don't know a lick of Korean,"
"I think you'll learn," Estelle glanced at Hoseok, who was looking between his phone and Kyra, "Pretty quickly,"

Minjoon gym au
Yoga instructor jimin, gym patron namjoon, Jimin is horny, taehyung is so done w his ass, joon is sweaty, ft. Jimin’s graphic fantasies
“You just don't get it Taehyungie,” he laments as he flings himself across the younger male’s lap, margarita sloshing across his shirt.
He’s so drunk, he barely even realizes it.
“You're living it up in domestic bliss with Jeonggukie, and i’m over here, single as a pringle and third wheeling the hell out of you and 2seok over there-“
He points to the other side of the club, where Hoseok and Jin are busy dancing, if you could call it that. Honestly it was less like dancing and more like grinding on each other and making out.
Taehyung sighs.
“And my gym Adonis hasn’t been there for two weeks, Tae. Two weeks!”
“You need to get laid.” Taehyung says, exasperated, scanning the crowd for his boyfriend.
He flails around some more, dramatically fake sobbing.
“My one chance at romance is gone, Taetae. Gone!”
Jimin was a yoga and dance instructor at the gym near his apartment. The gym was on the more luxurious side, so he made decent money, but that wasn’t the only perk.
See, Jimin had had his eyes on a particular man for quite some time now.
He frequented the gym Jimin worked at, often on the squat rack or rowing machine, or simply lifting weights.
He was tall, with short silver hair, golden tanned skin and an absolutely ridiculous bangin’ body-
(“He could choke me with his bare hands. And I would probably thank him.”
“That- that's- okay, that's great. Thanks for that.” Jungkook said, nose scrunching in disgust. )
Needless to say, their entire friend group knew about this guy, as Jimin was not one to keep his unabashedly horny thoughts to himself.
Jimin often gazed at his mystery man from across the gym, drooling over his sweaty pecs in the thin tank top he usually wore and his thighs in those stupid gym shorts, fantasizing about all sorts of debauchery they could engage in.
However, as much as he liked to fantasize, it's safe to say Jimin was way too timid to actually approach him.
Apart from the mystery gym guy being hella hot, he was also- for that very reason- extremely intimidating.
(“God Hobi, I mean, I can't look him in the eye! I’ve been nursing this crush for at least 2 months now, I can't approach him? I mean, what would I even say to him? ‘Hey, i've been watching you from across the gym for a while now, I think you're pretty hot, wanna bang?’”
“That would be weird. And creepy.” Hoseok nodded sagely.)
So therein lies the problem.
The man in question hadn’t been seen at the gym for about two weeks now, and Jimin was starting to lose it.
“Hyung, he’s probably just on vacation or something. You’re overreacting.” Says Jungkook, returning from the bar with two cosmos in hand, one of which Jimin gratefully accepts.
“But- but what if he found another gym, what if he stopped coming to my gym? I don’t even know his name!”
Jimin collapses over the side of the booth dramatically, sighing like a Victorian maiden.
Taehyung rubs his back sympathetically. “Don't worry hyung, he’ll come back.”
💪💪💪💪
Gym Adonis did come back.
When Jimin walks through the doors, he turns around and screams silently into his hands as he catches sight of mystery gym guy.
He’s rolling out his legs on a floor mat near the entrance to the studio where Jimin holds his classes.
Which places him directly in Jimin’s path.
Fuck.
Jimin silently calculates every single possible path he could take to the entrance of his studio which would take him around gym guy.
Unfortunately, all of them are awkward and would make it exceedingly obvious that he was avoiding gym guy.
He’s been psychoanalyzing the situation in his head for too long, which translates to him standing by the check in desk for an inordinate amount of time.
Seokjin, who happens to be one of the managers, levels him with an unamused glare from behind the check-in desk.
“For fuck's sake Jimin-ah, go talk to him. Jesus.”
Jimin’s internal dialogue goes something like this:
God he’s so hot. I really should talk to him. It's been ages. But what happens if i fuck it up? God, what do I even say to him?
All this fizzles out when gym hottie looks up from his foam roller and locks eyes with him.
Here is the image seared into Park Jimin’s eyeballs.
Gym hottie is wearing his trademark thin tank top soaked through with sweat along with one of the sluttier pairs of shorts (fuck. Are those running shorts?) he’s seen. His foot is in the air, calf jutting out from where his thigh is pressed into the roller, his other leg crossed on top. His thighs- god, his golden, glistening thighs-are prominently displayed from where his shorts have ridden up, the meat of them spilling over from the pressure of the roller underneath him.
Needless to say, his brain promptly short circuits and he’s left standing there staring at gym hotties thighs like a creep, you're so fucking weird Jimin, what the fuck, snap out of it.
He’s jolted out of his thoughts when gym hottie clears his throat. To his horror, he realizes that his feet have carried him so that he’s now standing right in front of gym Adonis.
Oh god.
“You’re really hot.” He blurts.
The guy averts his gaze, smiling to himself. And-
Wow. Dimples.
“I-I’m so sorry! I just meant to-“
The guy chuckles good-naturedly.
“It's alright. I’ve noticed you staring.”
Wow.
Damn, his voice is deep, Jimin thinks.
He lowers his voice.
“I was wondering if I was gonna have to make the first move.”
That's- flattering. However-
“You've noticed me staring?”He says, flushing red.
“God that's so embarrassing, I’m so sorry-”
The guy shakes his head with a reassuring smile. “No, don't be. You never met my eyes; I just figured you were shy. But now…“
He hadn't really expected this guy to be into him right off the bat, but the way this guy was decidedly checking him out (Jimin silently thanked himself for wearing his cute Lululemon leggings that hugged his ass and thighs just right) Jimin figured he would take the shot.
“Would you maybe wanna…” Jimin trails off and looks at the floor. Those fucking thighs. God. I can barely look at him.
Gym hottie stares back at him, confused. “Wanna…?”
“Get a drink with me?
Wait. Was that too forward?
He scrambles to amend his statement.
“It doesn’t have to be alcohol.” He says, backpedaling. “It could just… be coffee or something?”
Hot guy chuckles. “Damn, don’t you at least want my name first?”
Jimin flushes bright red, his hand flying to the back of his neck. “Shit, right. I’m Park Jimin.”
“Ah, you’re the yoga instructor right? I’m Kim Namjoon.”
“That’s right.” Jimin actually doesn’t force a smile this time.
Gym hottie, or just Namjoon, finally stands up and rolls up his mat as Jimin watches. “I’d love to get a drink- or coffee or something- with you.”
Fuck, he’s adorable.
“Really?” Way to make it seem like you have low self-esteem, dumbass.
“Sure.” He smiles, adorable dimples on display.
He leans in closer.
“You think checking someone out at the gym doesn’t go both ways?”
Jimin’s face is several shades of crimson at this point. He can't quite believe this is actually happening, is tempted to pinch himself because there’s no way, right?
They exchange phone numbers before Namjoon has to leave, but not without a suave wink and a “text me, alright?”
When Namjoon finally leaves Jimin has to take several moments to compose himself.
He silent-screams into his hands for the second time that day.
From behind the desk, Seokjin whistles.
“You actually did it. I thought you would be too much of a coward.”
“I got his number,” he whispers to himself, dazed. “I actually got his number.”
Jimin whips around.
“Hyung! I got his number!”
Jimin whoops in glee. The other gym patrons are definitely looking at him weird but Jimin could care less.
He has the promise of a date to look forward to.
💪💪💪💪
Jimin 7:58 pm
Hey, this is Jimin, the yoga instructor?
Namjoon 8:00 pm
Hi :) I remember, you're the cute small one
Jimin squeals. The cute small one?
Jimin 8:01 pm
Lol you think im cute?
Namjoon 8:02 pm
Yea ofc. You’re adorable
Jimin 8:02 pm
Please I’m so bad at taking compliments, I cannot physically accept it
Youre the cute one
Namjoon 8:03 pm
LOL you’re so funny
And that’s definitely not true, you’re the cute one
They go back and forth like this for a while until the conversation shifts to a possible date.
Jimin 8:10pm
So you weren’t lying when you said you wanna go out with me huh.
Namjoon 8:10pm
Why would i lie about that
Jimin 8:11pm
Sooo where would you wanna go? Hypothetically. If we were going on a date.
O-kay, calm down, Park Jimin. Take a chill pill. It’s just a date. You’ve been on dates before.
Namjoon 8:11pm
there's this cute little bakery I've been wanting to check out for a while. I follow the owner on instagram and they make these really beautiful pastries and tarts.
if, hypothetically, we were going on a date.
Jimin laughs.
Namjoon sends him the address and they set a date, and the whole time Jimin is questioning his reality.
Is this the Matrix? Is he in a simulation right now? Because he can hardly believe this is happening.
Jimin flops back on the bed. He feels a bit like a character in a teenage Disney channel movie.
💪💪 💪 💪
“Hyung, you’re definitely overthinking this.”
Jungkook’s exasperated voice comes through the speaker of his phone. On the screen, Taehyung jumps into the frame.
“Wear those slutty jeans you have. You know, the ones with the buttons on the butt that open.”
“Those are for clubbing only, you harlot.” He chastises.
“This is a normal regular date at a normal, regular place.”
Jimin sighs. He has the majority of his wardrobe spread out on his bed, frantically trying to find something to wear to his date.
It seems like all of his clothes are either too casual or too formal, with nothing in between.
Eventually he decides on a cute baby blue sweater that’s just big enough to fall a little bit off one shoulder with his trademark ripped skinny jeans that make his ass look magnificent.
“Looks great, hyung.” Jungkook says through the phone.
“Yeah, he’d be crazy not to wanna jump you right away,” says Taehyung.
💪💪💪💪
Turns out Namjoon is not actually a meathead like Jimin had assumed.
He reads a lot, is really into modern art (the highbrow type of shit that Jimin never really understood) and even makes music on the side.
When Jimin tells him that he dances, he’s immediately enthusiastically on board.
“That’s amazing! I'll make you a beat, something you can dance to.”
Jimin curls into himself, suddenly shy.
“Aw, I don't know about that, I’m afraid I won't do it justice-“
“No, of course not, I know you’ll be good.” Namjoon smiles warmly and wow. He's so golden and pretty, Jimin thinks, dazed.
“Thanks.”
They talk about anything and everything, and the more they talk, Jimin finds himself more and more endeared and attracted to this man.
He’s smart and kind and funny and handsome and a million other things that Jimin can’t quite put into words.
Which is why when Namjoon offers to walk him home, Jimin accepts.
And when they get to the door of Jimin’s apartment, he summons all his courage to ask-
“What, no goodbye kiss?” with a smirk.
Namjoon blinks, surprised, but quickly recovers. He shyly smiles, eyes crinkling, before leaning in slowly and-
Wow.
His lips are plush and warm and Jimin can't help but kiss him harder. Namjoon cups his jaw with his (large) hand and kisses back, equally as enthusiastic.
They break the kiss and for a moment it's just them, breathing in each other’s air.
Namjoon steps back.
“How are you so…..” he trails off, seemingly lost for words.
“So…..what?”Jimin bats his eyelashes, bites his lip, trying for all the world to look as delectably fuckable as possible.
See, Jimin wasn't usually the kind of guy who put out on the first date, but. Namjoon was the kind of guy he would make an exception for.
Namjoon shakes his head, dismissing the point.
“Would you wanna-” Jimin starts but Namjoon cuts him off.
“Please don’t take this the wrong way but-” Namjoon flushes, scratching the back of his neck. “I don’t want this to be a one time thing, I-I wanna date you for real. I wanna be your boyfriend. He turns away, suddenly shy, mumbles, “You deserve that much at least.”
Jimin is endeared to say the least.
“To be completely honest with you? I wanted the same thing.
💪💪💪💪
From there things progress quickly.
Turns out, Jimin and Namjoon are a great couple. Jimin falls quickly, Namjoon less so. For him it's more of a gradual realization that he’s falling in love, whereas Jimin comes to terms with it much more quickly. They spend whole days together on their days off from work, going to every possible gallery and cafe and museum and park and restaurant in Seoul.
The day comes where Jimin is to introduce Namjoon to his friends, and he is.
Nervous, to say the least.
(“Oh god, what if they dont like me? What if they think I'm a pretentious intellectual?” Namjoon frets, wringing his hands.)
“Babe, with a body like yours, I guarantee you they’ll be pleasantly surprised when the word “anti-capitalist” comes out of your mouth. )
Needless to say, it went well.
Jungkook is, for some reason, starstruck. “I listen to you on Soundcloud!”
Namjoon laughs, a bit embarrassed.
“Wow, really?”
He and Hoseok bond over their mutual love for music and songwriting.
Taehyung takes a moment to look him up and down and whistles, saying to Jimin:
“You sure bagged yourself a nice one, Jiminie.”
Their dates always end the same way: they're making out, usually with Jimin in Namjoon’s lap, but Namjoon always chickens out and leaves awkwardly whenever Jimin even suggests taking his pants off.
It’s frustrating to no avail.
Eventually, Jimin confronts him about it.
They're at Jimin’s place, Netflix playing in the background, and they're kissing.
They’re kissing and it's great and Jimin is fully in his lap and Namjoon most certainly has his tongue down his throat and he keeps making these little sounds, a sound somewhere between a sigh and a groan and it lights a fire in Jimin’s blood. He breaks the kiss to pant heavily into Joon’s mouth, his big hands circling his small waist, their foreheads touching.
He knows where this is headed. They’ll kiss until Jimin starts tugging at his shirt, and then Namjoon will get all hesitant and awkward and make up some excuse and then he’ll leave.
Jimin doesn’t want him to.
So this time, when Namjoon breaks the kiss and leans back, Jimin says, frustrated-
“Why won’t you fuck me?”
Namjoon makes a strangled noise.
Jimin is- mad now, frustrated and horny and confused.
“Am I not fuckable enough for you? I mean, I'm cute, right? Im cute and I’m small and I have nice thighs and iI fucking have abs, okay? I don't know what else you want from me-
“No, no, Jimin, stop! I promise it’s not you-” Namjoon interrupts him, frantic.
“Well then what is it, Joon? Because I’ve wracked my brain for hours about this.”
Jimin crosses his arms.
“And it makes me feel…. I dunno. Like I'm not worthy.”
“No, no, I promise it's not that.”
Namjoon plants a tender kiss on his forehead.
“It's…. Well, I haven't been with anyone in a long time- since my ex. And that was.” Namjoon sighs. “Anyway. The point is.”
“You’re here and you're so sexy and confident and I feel like this huge bumbling idiot and I kept running away because- well, because I didn't feel like I was worthy enough to have you.”
He shrugs.
“And I was terrified that we- we would do it, we would have sex, and i’d be terrible and you’d be disappointed and you wouldn’t want me anymore.”
“Oh Joon.”
Jimin kisses him, a tender one this time.
“Of course I want you. I want all of you.”
Jimin smiles at him.
“And hey, even if you are terrible, I can make you un-terrible.” He waggles his eyebrows.
“That's not how that word works.”
“Anti-terrible.”
“Youre so-”
“I'm so what?” Jimin grins cheekily.
Namjoon rolls his eyes before kissing him with fervor, catching Jimin off guard.
From there things progress quickly.
Time passes in a blur until they're both shirtless, Jimin fully in Namjoon’s lap. They’re panting into each other’s mouths, Namjoon kissing down the column of his throat.
“Beautiful,” he whispers.
He scrapes his teeth on his neck, teasing a bite, and Jimin whimpers.
“Fuck, Joon-”
Namjoon comes back up to meet him, eyes dark, before kissing him again, so deep and heavy Jimin feels like he’s drowning. Namjoon's lips move against his own in a way that’s- dirty, really, wet and desperate and almost frantic in a way so that Jimin meets him with the same amount of desire.
Everything feels like- like Jimin is a live wire, like someone stripped away all of his insulation and is now exposed, one raw nerve. Namjoon’s touch lights up his body, every touch has him shivering and pressing back into it, craving more.
Then they have sex goodbye.
The end bro

I love this so much already. The banter, the interactions, all so cute.
Taehyung shrugs. “It was only a few running drills. Nothing to get worked up over.”
Taehyung I will slap your naturally gifted face.
Hoseok’s inner drill instructor doesn’t take a break when the practice game starts, alternates on one side, starters on the other. Somehow, he manages to run, catch, throw, and yell instructions the entire time, like a demented multihyphenate. It would be impressive if it weren’t irritating.
I also love demented dodgeball maniac Hobi. He's just so ridiculous, I love how you wrote his angry dance teacher vibes lololol.
“That works for me,” he murmurs, soft smile playing on his plush lips. “Just say the word and I’ll follow.”
I just took a dodgeball straight to the doki doki hnggggg this is so fucking cute I want one.

Summary: When your best friend Taehyung tells you he has the perfect thing to help you get over a broken heart, you’re surprised to learn he means dodgeball, the beloved game of sociopathic gym teachers everywhere. But even more surprising is the way you find comfort in the game, and so much more, as you fall into the rush with the help of another teammate - his brother, Seokjin.
A/N: Happy belated birthday, Jin! This was written as part of the Catch of the Century collab, hosted by MVPs @raplinesmoon @joheunsaram and @kithtaehyung!
Sooooo this underwent a few rewrites and then my life blew up as the December deadline got closer and then I decided to do Kinkmas because I'm just a gal who can't say no. I knew I could either rush to get this done, be upset at how shoddily written it is, and then hate myself for putting out something I wasn't proud of just to meet the deadline, orrrrr I could be kind to myself and recognize that I am a human and not a machine and sometimes despite my best efforts I fall short, and release it as a two-parter. Et voilà! Here is part one.
Unbeta'd as usual.
Please don't be a silent reader 🥺 I'd love to know what you think! 💕

“Dodgeball. You want to play dodgeball?”
You stare at your roommate incredulously. Taehyung nods.
“Dodgeball. The kids game? The beloved sport of sociopathic PE teachers everywhere? That dodgeball?”
He can’t be serious. Neither you nor he are the athletic type. But from the solemn look on his face as you continue to sputter in surprise, you know he’s not joking. Taehyung is many things - an artist, a daydreamer, the kindest soul you’ve ever met and your best friend of five years and counting - but he’s not a liar.
Still, when he’d walked into your room five minutes ago, yanked back the curtains to let the late-morning light in, and told you to get up because he had an idea, you’d assumed he’d wanted you to go with him down to the coffee shop on the corner so he could covertly admire his latest crush, the cute barista with the pink hair. Dodgeball was nowhere near the possibilities your mind conjured up.
Taehyung sighs. “Yes. Dodgeball. There’s an adult league that plays at the rec center on Saturdays and I want to join. And I want you to join, too.” He flops down on your bed, nudging you over so he can lie next to you, ignoring your grumbles as you make room. “I think it would be good for you to get out a little. Get some fresh air.”
“I have plenty of fresh air,” you inform him, gesturing to your bedroom window, which is currently cracked about an inch. It might be spring, but the chill that clings in the air still feels like winter.
“Uh-huh. Sure you do. But out of curiosity, when’s the last time you actually left the apartment, besides for work?”
“Um.” He’s got you there. Casting your mind back, you can’t even remember the last time you left the safety of your home to do anything other than clock in at the bartending job where you both work. “Does going to the mailbox count?”
It doesn’t, and he doesn’t even need to respond, just gives you his signature exasperated look, but the warmth in his brown eyes shimmers just beneath as always. “Pumpkin,” he begins, using one of the many silly nicknames he loves to address you by, knowing how much you hate cutesy stuff like that, “you can’t hide in here forever.”
An instant rebuttal floats through your mind. You absolutely can hide in your room for the rest of your life, if you so choose. The internet brings the world to your fingertips. Everything can be delivered these days. Okay, true, you’ll still need to leave for work, but that’s only until you finish your novel and net yourself a publishing deal. Then you can quit your crappy bartending job, build yourself the perfect blanket nest, and become the hermit you were always meant to be.
Joining a dodgeball team doesn’t fit into that plan. It’s going to require you to go outside. Outside is dangerous.
Outside is where he is.
At the sharp pang that stabs your gut, you turn to your roommate with a grimace. “I don’t know. I’m not really a… sports…person - and neither are you, frankly. And it’s a team sport, which means others will be relying on you. You really think this is something you can commit to? I mean, remember the gym?”
Last year, the two of you had joined a gym together at his suggestion, which you both had visited a grand total of one time. He later confessed he’d only signed up because a hot customer at the bar had convinced him to after a long evening of flirting. That short-lived commitment ended the moment Taehyung arrived at the gym and discovered that the hot patron’s promise to give Tae a full-body workout was not, to Tae’s disappointment, a euphemism, but only a sales pitch.
Again, Taehyung doesn’t respond to your question. Instead, he uses the one weapon in his arsenal that destroys you every time the two of you argue over what to do.
With a tilt of his head, Taehyung flashes you his big sad puppy dog eyes.
You sigh. “Goddamn it. Fine. Fine. Let’s play dodgeball.”
Immediately, Taehyung’s countenance changes, a brilliant, boxy smile crossing his face as he grins at your caving. “Great! Sign-ups are actually this afternoon, sooooo… up and at ‘em, cupcake! Let’s get moving.” He jumps up, holding out his hands, and you begrudgingly let him pull you out of bed. “You’re definitely going to need a shower before we meet the other players.”
“Have I ever told you how annoying you are?” you mutter as you follow him down the hallway towards your tiny kitchen to brew some coffee, knowing you’ll need the caffeine if you’re going to be socializing with strangers this afternoon.
He beams again, tossing his dark bangs out of his eyes. “All the time.”
The rec center is only a few blocks from your apartment, but you’d never stepped foot inside before Taehyung drags you down there to sign up for the league. Still, there’s a familiar scent when you walk into the building, the smell of rubber mats and sweat mingling together, stirring up memories of PE classes from grade school. The flashbacks make you shudder.
Taehyung shakes you out of your memories as he steers you towards a folding table that’s been set up in the lobby. “Come on, we check in here.” A friendly woman in a purple tracksuit sitting at the table waves you over.
“Hiya! Are you team leaders or free agents?” She laughs at your blank stares. “Okay, I’ll take that to mean you’re not here to sign up an existing team, but you’re free agents in search of a team to join!”
“Oh, yeah, that’s us,” Taehyung nods sagely, as if he knew that.
“Great! If you’ll just fill out these forms…” she hands you both a sheet of paper, “I will process your fees, and then I can point you in the direction of some teams looking to add some new players!”
Forms? Fees? This is more complicated than you’d expected. You’d figured you’d just walk in and play, like joining a pick-up game of basketball or something similar that people who like sports might do. “So, um, how does this work?”
The smile never leaves her face as Ms. Purple Tracksuit explains that you’ll be joining a team for the next ten weeks to play against other teams in a tournament ending in a championship match between the two best teams. “And the fee covers your uniform!”
“A uniform?”
She leans forward, whispering conspiratorially. “Don’t get too excited. It’s just a t-shirt.”
After you hand in your form and make Taehyung pay your fee, Ms. Purple Tracksuit tells you to head into the main gymnasium, where the team leaders looking for new recruits are waiting. There’s another dose of déjà vu as you enter the room to find several clusters of players standing around, sizing you up as you walk in. It reminds you of being a kid, waiting on the sidelines while the other kids whisper to one another about who to pick.
“Uh, this is a little intense,” you whisper to Taehyung, clinging to his elbow as he blithely strolls between the groups. “I feel like I’m being judged.”
“Nah, this is a numbers thing, he says. According to Ms. Purple Tracksuit, teams consist of six to ten players, so there’s a good chance you’ll be able to find a team together. If you’re picked at all, that is. “Whatever team needs two players will take us, I’m sure.”
Your roommate just wanders through life with a natural confidence that you’ve rarely seen in others. You suppose it makes sense, given how handsome and talented he is. Still irks you a bit.
“And what makes you say that?” You scan the room, taking in the other players. There are several others who wear similar expressions to your own, looking a little overwhelmed. It strangely gives you hope that you won’t be the only one here who doesn’t know what she’s doing.
And then there are those who look like they live, eat, and breathe dodgeball, like the two tall, muscle-bound gods to your left, both wearing a shirt that says “Rock the Balls.” Team leaders, you assume.
“Uh-huh, sure,” Taehyung replies distractedly, and you frown, following his gaze to see what caught his attention, since he’s clearly not listening, only to spy pink hair and a gorgeous smile that you recognize from your favorite coffee shop.
Grabbing his arm, you force your roommate to look at you as you hiss his name. “Taehyung. Tell me we’re not here because of that barista!”
“Hmm?” Tae’s starry-eyed expression is all the answer you need. Of course. Of course he dragged you here so he could flirt with his crush. How did you not see this coming? “What? Noooo, I told you, I want to play dodgeball! But isn’t it a nice coincidence that Jimin is here?”
“Right. Coincidence. You’re unbelievable.” With an exasperated sigh, you give him a push. “Well, go talk to your man. See if his team needs two new players.”
Taehyung doesn’t need telling twice, happily bouncing towards the barista. And now you’re alone in a gymnasium full of strangers, feeling left out again. As you slowly revolve in place, looking for somewhere to hide and wait for Taehyung to return, one of the muscle-bound gods approaches.
“Hey,” he says, giving you a little head nod. “You looking for a team?”
Technically, you suppose you are, but you should probably see if Taehyung will be dragging you on to Jimin’s team with him first. But as you glance at the god, with his wavy dark hair and silver lip ring nestled in the corner of a pair of rather pink lips, you’ve the urge to say yes. He and his buddy are mind-meltingly hot.
“I’m not sure. I’m here with a friend,” you finally respond. Super glad Taehyung forced you to shower today.
The god nods, eyes dragging over your frame. If you touched your cheeks right now, you’re pretty sure they’d be blazing hot under his gaze. “That’s cool. I’m Jungkook, by the way, and this is Namjoon.” He nods to the other god, whose lips quirk in a cool half-smile.
“Sup,” he rumbles, jerking his chin in your direction. He runs a hand through his short, dark hair, fingers scratching over the lines buzzed into the sides. “We run Rock the Balls. And we’re looking for two new members.”
“Actually, that’s gonna be three new members,” a familiar voice declares behind you. Your eyes widen before you spin to find yet another handsome man behind you. But this one you know well.
“Jin-ah!” Throwing your arms around his neck, you attack Seokjin with a hug, grinning as his squeaky laugh echoes through the gymnasium. It’s been nearly a year since you’ve seen Taehyung’s older brother, but he looks mostly the same - the same warm brown eyes surrounded by ever-deepening laugh lines, the same perfect cupid’s bow twitching as he smiles as you. The only difference is that his hair is a little shaggier now, a fluffy brown cloud that bounces when you finally release him.
“I could get used to a hello like that,” Seokjin grins.
“When did you get home?” you ask, vaguely aware that the gods have drifted away. “And what are you doing here?”
“Got in two days ago. I would’ve stopped by to see you and Tae-yah, but I needed to get my land legs back first.” Seokjin probably means that pretty literally, since he’s spent the last year on a research station in the middle of the ocean. As a marine biologist, he works at a local lab run by a federal agency, studying the effects of ocean pollution on various species of fish. Occasionally, he has to do field work, but this last round was his longest stint yet, taking him away from home for nearly twelve full months. “When I texted him this morning, he mentioned that he was joining a dodgeball team, and I… well, I had to check that out for myself.” You both laugh. “So I thought I’d surprise you.”
“You definitely did that!” you confirm. “I want to hear all about your research trip. Did you find anything interesting? Discover any new species?” You lean in excitedly. “Did you finally find some mermaids??”
Seokjin tuts. “Aish, how many times do I have to tell you, I’m not a deep sea diver, I’m just a guy pulling water samples off a dock?”
“Yeah, whatever, Jin Cousteau.”
He rolls his eyes. “I was really hoping that that nickname would’ve died out in the last year.”
“Oh no, that one’s for life. And listen, you can downplay your job all you want, but I know the deal. You just can’t tell me anything because the government forces you to keep those secrets locked down. But I’ll get the truth out of you someday.”
“Oh?” Seokjin cocks an eyebrow. “And just how d-”
“Hyung!!”
“Oof!” Seokjin grunts as your roommate launches himself at his brother, tackling him in a bear hug. When the affectionate embrace becomes a wrestling match in the middle of the gym, you feel a presence at your side, and turn to find Jimin and another man watching the melee with a surprised look on their faces.
“Don’t worry,” you reassure them, “they’re always like this.”
“Uh, okay,” the barista chuckles. “Um, I wanted to introduce you to my friend, Hoseok. Hoseok-ah, this is YN, Taehyung-ah’s roommate.”
“Hey.” The other man grins a smile that can only be described as a beam of pure sunshine, and you wonder if this dodgeball league is for models only, because you’re basically surrounded by nothing but gorgeous people.
“Hi. Um, and that is Seokjin, Tae-yah’s brother,” you gesture to the skirmish.
“Mmmice to meet eww!” Seokjin’s response is a little muffled by Taehyung’s armpit, but he manages to wave.
“Hyung, why didn’t you tell me you were going to be here?” Taehyung whines.
“Anted oo urprise!” Seokjin finally untangles himself from his brother’s headlock. “Wanted to surprise you,” he says again, more clearly.
“We’re starting a new team, and we could use three players, if you’d all like to join us?” Hoseok asks.
“Are you sure you want this on your team?” you reply, gesturing to Taehyung and Seokjin.
“I think we can handle them,” Jimin grins, and Taehyung’s smile turns blinding. “Besides, we could use that energy on the court!”
“Yeah,” Hoseok agrees. “Also, we’re a brand new team, so we’re desperate!”
“That’s my favorite word.” Seokjin’s shoulders shake as he cracks himself up. “We’re in!”
Hoseok smiles. “Fantastic. Welcome to the Seven Slamurai!”
Once you’ve finished signing up for Hoseok’s team, you, Taehyung, and Seokjin decide to grab some dinner together. Another thing about Seokjin that hasn’t changed during his time away is his voracious appetite, so you take him to an all-you-can-eat bbq restaurant not far from the rec center.
As the soju starts flowing and the plates start piling up, Seokjin tells you about his year on the ocean. He starts out with a disclaimer, warning you that his research isn’t interesting, and he’s not entirely wrong. Most of it goes over your head, since it’s been years since you last took a biology course. But it’s not really what he’s talking about that keeps you focused on him, it’s how he talks about it that holds your attention. You’re fascinated by his passion for his work. His dedication to studying ocean life in order to preserve and protect it. It makes you wish you had a cause of your own to defend.
And then, of course, as the liquor catches up with him, he tells you all the gossip about the other crew members on his station - the hookups, the fights, all the little scandals that brought the drama to the high seas. Seokjin’s always been a good storyteller, knowing just what to say to keep you and Taehyung laughing.
“But what about you?” you ask when Seokjin pauses to stuff some pork belly in his face. “Did you have any flings with any of the other scientists? Hmmm? Dip your fishing rod in company waters?”
“Gross,” Taehyung mumbles around a mouthful of beef bulgogi.
Seokjin shakes his head. “Nah. I didn’t click with anyone there like that. Honestly, we spent so much time together each day that by the end of it, I was dying to get away from most of them, which was really hard to do since we were basically stranded together in the middle of nowhere! So I spent a lot of my downtime hiding in my bunk, reading old research papers that I found in the station’s library.”
“You read research papers for fun?” Taehyung looks horrified.
Downing another shot of soju, you lean towards Seokjin, licking the peach-flavored drops from your lips. “Come on. You’re telling me you went an entire year without hooking up with anyone? Not even a little making out?”
“Nope.” Seokjin pops the ‘p.’ At your incredulous look, he laughs, lifting his shoulders. “What? A year’s not that long! I made it just fine.”
“Yeah,” Taehyung agrees, “it’s not that long. Besides, he was probably jerking off nonstop.”
Soju flies out of Seokjin’s nose as you and Taehyung burst into raucous laughter. Seokjin scolds his brother, who argues back as he always does, telling the elder to loosen up, while you sit quietly, chin in hand, smiling to yourself as you watch the fireworks, realizing how nice it is to have Seokjin home again.
He and Taehyung are pretty much a package deal. You’d met Taehyung first during your senior year of college. At the time, Seokjin was finishing up his graduate program at the same school, and his plans to move out of his and Taehyung’s apartment upon graduation and roll right into some field work had Taehyung feeling like he was being left high and dry. You’d ended up becoming Taehyung’s new roommate that summer, and then it had turned out that Taehyung’s worries were all for naught, because Seokjin still spent most of his free time hanging out at his (now your) place, anyway.
You didn’t mind then and you don’t mind now. Seokjin’s a good balance to all of Taehyung’s extremes. Where Taehyung has his head in the clouds, Seokjin’s feet are firmly planted in the ground. Taehyung can be mercurial, even flaky sometimes, but Seokjin’s rock-steady. They’re not complete opposites in everything, though. Just like his brother, Seokjin has a big heart.
Once Seokjin runs out of steam, Taehyung shrugs. “I’m just saying, being with someone isn’t the only way to be satisfied. Just look at me. I’m single and I’m happy.”
He looks almost smug as he states this, and something inside you snaps. The last thing you want to hear from Taehyung is another speech about loving yourself. You’ve heard plenty of those over the last few weeks. You do love yourself.
You just wanted someone else to love you, too.
Pointing your chopsticks at him, you frown. “Oh, please don’t start! One, you were just dating a guy last month, so it’s not like you’ve gone an entire year without being with someone, and two, you literally just dragged me onto a freaking dodgeball team so you could start dating another! So I don’t want to hear any platitudes about embracing your singleness or anything like that.”
Taehyung is silent for a moment after your outburst. “Sorry,” he finally says, poking at the remains of the kimchi on his plate. “I wasn’t thinking.”
Seokjin’s gaze bounces between the two of you. “I feel like I’m missing something.”
Taehyung sees you nibbling on your bottom lip and he turns to his brother. “I can explain. Buttercup here-”
“Buttercup can speak for herself,” you interject, “and don’t call me that.” With a sigh, you slug back another shot of soju and look at Seokjin. He’s waiting patiently to hear what you have to say. “I was… kinda seeing someone a few months ago. And I thought that I had something with them, and it turned out that I was wrong. They didn’t feel the same way I did, so…” You trail off, not sure how to say ‘so I spent the last few months crying in my room over a broken heart.’
Luckily, Seokjin spares you this confession, nodding sympathetically. “I gotcha,” he says simply, and you nod back, stuffing some rice into your mouth so you don’t cry at the warmth in his expression.
“I don’t know why you’re being so cryptic about who it was,” Taehyung frowns. “She’s talking about Yoongi.”
Something passes over Seokjin’s face quickly, so fast you almost miss it as you smack your roommate on his arm. He yelps in shock.
“What? He was going to find out eventually, they’re best friends!”
You know this, but it doesn’t make you feel any better. Seokjin is actually the one who introduced the two of you, at the party he threw before he left for his research trip. You remember that night very clearly, can close your eyes and picture Yoongi standing there, with silver hair and silver hoops in his ears, dark cat eyes shimmering as Seokjin gave him your name, and you feel that same swoop in your stomach as you did then. Only now it comes with a painful twist of your heart as well.
Falling for Yoongi happened so quickly. You’d immediately bonded over a shared love of hip-hop and whisky, spending the party huddled together on the couch, snarking over Seokjin’s music collection and liquor selection, talking until the sun came up and Seokjin started throwing everyone out. As you left, you’d asked Seokjin for Yoongi’s number. But before you even entered it into your phone, a text appeared from Yoongi himself. He confessed he’d asked Seokjin for your number as well.
“I haven’t talked to Yoongi-yah in a while.” Seokjin glances at you. “You know how hard it was for me to keep in touch. There’s no cell phone reception in the middle of the ocean, and the internet seemed to come and go at will. At least I heard from you two occasionally, but I didn’t hear from Yoongs except on my birthday, and we didn’t… you didn’t come up.” He looks apologetic as he says those last words, and your heart pangs again.
“It’s okay, why would I have?” you snort. “Like I said, it turned out to be a big bunch of nothing between us.” Despite what you thought. What you felt.
A server appears at the table to drop off the bill, and you welcome the interruption, wanting to go home and crawl into the safety of your bed again, feeling like it was a mistake to leave in the first place. Taehyung and Seokjin fight over who is going to pay, with Taehyung winning, practically throwing his card at the server, but you’re too distracted by your thoughts to enjoy the scene.
Texting with Yoongi had turned into late night conversations. Going to concerts and bars to check out new musicians, doing whisky tastings and visiting distilleries. It felt like you were glued at the hip for a few months, and the more you got to know him, the harder you fell. Like the way you fell into his bed, over and over.
But nothing sticks out in your memory more than that last night, the last time you saw him, when you finally found the courage to tell him how you felt. You’ll never forget the sad look on his face. It told you everything you needed to know before he even spoke.
“Buttercup?” Taehyung’s voice pulls you from your reverie. “You ready to go?” He and Seokjin are staring at you, both on their feet already, waiting to leave.
With a nod, you rise, and follow them out into the night.
Despite the name, the Seven Slamurai consists of nine players. (When you asked why, Jimin rolled his eyes and said he’d tried to argue with Hoseok over the moniker, but Hoseok was insistent that the name stay true to his favorite movie.) In addition to Hoseok, Jimin, Seokjin, Taehyung, and yourself, there are four others at your first practice session on Monday night at the rec center - Wooshik, Sunghwan, Seojoon, and Hyungsik. You exchange a few quick greetings with your new teammates before Hoseok gestures for you all to sit on the bleachers.
“Welcome everyone to our first team practice!” Hoseok smiles, clapping, and you lightly clap along until you realize no one else is. “Before we do some warm-ups, I thought I’d take a minute to explain the rules of the game, for those of you who haven’t played before.”
He launches into an overview of the sport. Most of it is familiar from your school days, but there are a few things that are new, like something about a rush, and a neutral zone, and a burden ball? You glance around to see if anyone else looks confused. Most of the new guys wear bored expressions. It’s safe to assume they’re experienced players. To your left, Taehyung is whispering something to Jimin, completely ignoring Hoseok’s spiel.
At least Seokjin, on your right, seems slightly dazed by the long list of rules that Hoseok’s rattling off. Now that you think of it, you’ve never seen Seokjin in any athletic context. As far as you know, he doesn’t play any sports, just like you and Taehyung, and he’s not a gym rat. So you have no idea what to expect from him on the court. Maybe he’ll be just as awkward as you’re expecting to be.
“Any questions?” Hoseok finishes up. There’s a moment of silence from the group, and then he claps his hands. “Okay! Then let’s warm up a little.”
You move from the bleachers to a mat on the floor and Hoseok leads everyone through a series of stretches. It’s been a long time since you’ve done any, so you’re not surprised when your toes remain fully out of your reach. Jimin, on the other hand, has folded himself in half, forehead practically touching the ground as he holds on to both feet. Turning to Seokjin to make a comment, you’re surprised to find him in a similar position.
He catches you looking. “Yoga,” he explains with a wink.
“Damn. Maybe I should start,” you grunt, giving up.
“The games are played with teams of five, which means we’ll have four alternates for each match,” Hoseok explains once everyone’s limbered up. “For today, I’d like us to run through a practice game, four on each side. I’m going to stay out and watch, to help me get a feel for who might be a starter and who might be an alt.”
The group splits in half, with you, Taehyung, Seokjin, and Jimin on one side, and the rest on the other. Hoseok stands at one end of the line in the middle of the court, where six balls lie waiting.
“Okay, ready, set!” And with a sharp blast of the whistle hanging from his neck, Hoseok brings the game to a start.
Immediately, Jimin and Taehyung run forward towards the center line, reaching for a ball each, while the other team mirrors their actions, rushing forward. But you? You freeze in the scramble, hands automatically coming up to shield your head. And as the first balls fly towards your side, you scream.
And so does Seokjin.
“Shit!” you curse as one of the rubber balls bounces off your arm. That’s definitely going to leave a mark.
“Fuck!” Seokjin yelps as he’s smacked in the shoulder by another ball.
The action stops as Hoseok blows his whistle. His sunny smile is gone, replaced by an intense look, eyebrows furrowed, mouth turned down. It’s intimidating, especially since it’s aimed directly at you.
“That was… not bad,” he says slowly through gritted teeth, speaking as though the words hurt him. “But maybe this time, you two should try joining the opening rush? Remember, no one can throw a ball at you as long as you’re in the neutral zone, so you’ll have time to grab and get back out of the line of fire.”
He glances from you to Seokjin, who nods as you grin in embarrasment. Great, you’ve already been identified as a weak player. You were hoping you could at least pretend to know what you were doing for a little while. Fly under the radar.
Taehyung wraps an arm around your waist. “Come on, ladybug, it’s not that scary. You just gotta jump in. Don’t think, just go.”
You shake him off with a scoff. Easy for him to say. You saw the way he was running around the court a minute ago, taking to the chaos like a duck to water. Should’ve known he’d turn out to be a natural athlete on top of all his other annoyingly amazing traits.
The game restarts, and this time you make an attempt to run towards the center line, but still hesitate, flashbacks of being pelted with balls running through your brain. Why did you agree to this? You always hated dodgeball in school!
Seokjin, on the other hand, joins Jimin and Taehyung at the line, and scoops up a ball before dashing back to where you’re frozen. The balls start flying again, and once again you’re out before anyone else. After a few more minutes, Hoseok ends the play.
“That was better!” he nods. “But let’s try it again, and this time maybe you can make it all the way forward, huh, YN?” His tone is encouraging, but his smile seems strained.
As you shuffle back towards the end of the court, you nudge Jimin. “Is Hoseok okay? He looks a little stressed.”
Jimin shoots you a lopsided smile. “He’s trying not to be as… intense… as he usually gets. We got kicked off our last team because he went a little overboard with his, uh, enthusiasm during the practice matches.”
The whistle blows before you’re ready, and you decide to take Taehyung’s advice, so you bolt forward without thinking, snatch up a ball, and then back away, not wanting to turn your back to the men behind you. In doing so, you catch Wooshik’s eye, and he grins coldly, winding up.
“Shit!” you yell, jumping out of the way in time. Taehyung dives in to catch it, sending Wooshik out of the game. But you’re not safe, as Seojoon takes aim next. Seokjin is next to you, trying to decide where to throw the ball in his hand, so you duck behind him, mimicking his movements. Eventually, he realizes he has a shadow.
“Are you using me as a human shield?” He bobs to the left. You follow.
“It’s not my fault you’re so broad!”
Seokjin honks a noisy mix of delighted laughter and insulted exclamation. Seojoon tires of waiting for you to emerge from behind Seokjin, so he pitches the ball forward, a low toss heading for Seokjin’s legs. Seokjin bends gracefully to catch the difficult throw, taking Seojoon out of the game, and as Seokjin doubles over, you snap the ball in your hands towards Hyungsik, hitting him directly in the side. Another ball rolls towards your feet, so you scoop it up and nail Sunghwan dead center of his chest.
And with that triple play, your side wins, with all four players still in.
There’s no whistle to end the game, as Hoseok’s mouth falls open, gawking wide-eyed at you. “She’s a sniper,” he whispers in an awed voice. Everyone turns to stare at you.
“What?” you ask, looking around. “What did I do now?”
According to Jimin, it’s tradition for the dodgeball teams to go out for drinks after practices and matches, so after hitting the locker room, the nine of you meet up at the Pied Piper, a quiet bar around the corner from the rec center. Thank god Taehyung convinced you to bring a change of clothes. You’d foolishly assumed you wouldn’t break a sweat, but you sure as fuck had.
Since the rec center isn’t that big, the practice schedules are staggered out, with only two other teams meeting on Wednesday nights - the Dodging Divas and Rock the Balls. By the time your team arrives at the bar, the others have already claimed most of the tables. As Taehyung and the others push the remaining tables together, Hoseok, Seokjin, and you sidle up to the bar to start ordering drinks.
Once the bartender drifts away to start pulling drafts, Hoseok turns to you with a bright smile. “Congrats, the two of you are definitely going to be starters.”
To say you’re surprised would be an understatement.
“Me? Really?” you squeak, glancing at Seokjin, who also appears dumbfounded. “Why?”
Hoseok leans against the bartop. “Look, I’ve been playing this game for long enough to know a strong arm when I see it,” he declares solemnly, tapping your bicep with two fingers. “I think with my help, you could be one of the best snipers out there. As for you,” he nods at Seokjin, “I think your flexibility is going to come in handy, like it does for Jimin. Also, I saw the way you two were working together on the court. If we can hone your skills, you’ll be an unstoppable duo for sure.” He grins. “The rest of the league won’t know what hit them, when the Seven Slamurai come through.”
The bartender returns with the first three beers of your order, and Hoseok carries them away with another nod, leaving you and Seokjin staring at each other in silence.
Then you both burst into laughter.
“Is he for real?” Seokjin asks, eyebrows raised. The bartender sets more glasses in front of you, and he grabs one, taking a long sip.
“I think so. I got the idea from Jimin that dodgeball means a lot to him, but wow. What he said is absolutely ridiculous, and yet… I do feel oddly inspired.”
“I know what you mean.” Seokjin grins. “Should we correct him, though?”
“About what?”
“Us working as a team. We weren’t working together so much as you were hiding behind me.”
His grin turns teasing, and a retort builds itself on your tongue. But before you can fire it off, a figure at the other end of the bar catches your eye. One of the Rock the Balls gods. Namjoon, maybe? He nods at you, dimple popping as his lips curl into a slight smirk. You blink, then raise one of the glasses of beer in his direction.
Seokjin follows your gaze. “Friend of yours?”
“Not really. One of the other teams’ leaders. We met at the sign up.”
Seokjin hums, giving Namjoon a second look. He taps the bartop while you help yourself to one of the pints. “Hey, so what you were talking about at dinner the other night… about Yoongi? I just wanted to say I’m sorry.”
You should’ve known the subject would come back up. With a little shrug, you attempt a grin, but only succeed in a grimace. “You don’t have anything to apologize for.”
“I know. But I’ve also been where you are, having feelings for someone that go unreciprocated, so… I’m sorry. I know it hurts.” He pauses, gaze locked on the glass in his hand. “For what it’s worth, I think he’s a total idiot.”
“I’m not going to argue there,” you quip, letting out an airy laugh. "But I'm the one who imagined the whole thing, so really, I'm not any smarter."
He looks at you then, a sober expression on his face. “I mean it. He’s the idiot. Not you. So just - just don’t let his stupidity have any bearing on how you might think about yourself, okay?”
You blink, wondering if you’ve suddenly gone completely transparent, because he’s seeing right through you. How are you not supposed to take Yoongi’s rejection as proof that you’re unlovable? If you were lovable, then wouldn’t he love you?
“I… okay.” Nodding, you reach for the glasses that have been sitting in front of you for a few minutes. “Um. We should probably get these to the rest of the team before they get antsy.”
Taehyung pats the seat next to him when you return to the group, and Seokjin takes the empty seat on your other side. “Hoseok just told us the good news,” he informs you, happily grabbing one of the beers in your hand.
“What, that Jinnie and I are gonna be starters?”
“That we are gonna be starters! You, me, hyung, Jimin-ah, and Hoseok-ssi.” Taehyung beams brightly as Jimin leans across him at the mention of his name. “He said we’ll work on our teamwork next practice, so we’re ready for our first match next weekend!”
“Oh! Well, damn, look at us go!” You lift your glass and everyone else does the same. “Cheers!”
“To teamwork!” Seokjin adds, eyes crinkling as he clinks his glass against yours. You grin back before taking a big sip. Maybe you’ll survive this season after all.
You’re not going to survive this season.
“Come on! Faster!”
A shrill whistle blast sounds as you hit the wall, spinning around before running back towards the center line. It’s Thursday night, so you’re at practice again. Your team has been running drills for only ten minutes now, but you’re pretty sure you’re going to die, panting terribly as your toe hits the crosses the line.
“Pick it up!” Hoseok yells as you spin again, heading back for the end of the court. As your fingertips reach the wall, he blows the whistle again, and you flatten your palms, pressing your forehead against the cold cement.
“I did not sign up for this,” Seokjin huffs next to you. “I signed up to dodge balls. This is not dodging balls!”
“Are you two okay?” Taehyung is neither panting nor huffing as he eyes you both with concern.
“How are you not dying like us?! You don’t work out!” Yelling takes up too much of your oxygen, and you sink to the ground, legs folding underneath you.
Taehyung shrugs. “It was only a few running drills. Nothing to get worked up over.”
Unable to respond, you settle for giving him the evil eye. You jump as Hoseok’s whistle sounds again.
“If he doesn’t stop it with that thing, I’m gonna make him eat it,” you mutter under your breath. Seokjin’s shoulders shake with silent laughter as he reaches out a hand to pull you to your feet.
Hoseok’s inner drill instructor doesn’t take a break when the practice game starts, alternates on one side, starters on the other. Somehow, he manages to run, catch, throw, and yell instructions the entire time, like a demented multihyphenate. It would be impressive if it weren’t irritating.
You play a total of three rounds against the alternates. The first round is awkward, filled mostly with Hoseok’s manic shouting. At one point, he tells you to cover the right and Taehyung to flank the left, and as the two of you run to switch sides, you run smack into each other. The alternates win.
In the second round, things go better. There are no collisions, but there’s also not much cohesion, either. You try to repeat last practice’s winning move, ducking behind Seokjin, but he’s too unpredictable, jumping all over the place to try to catch throws, and you’re not able to keep from getting hit. Your team loses again.
When the whistle signals the end of the round, you head for the bleachers, where you’ve stashed a bottle of water and a towel, having realized last practice that both items were desperately needed. The rest of your team follows.
“Well, this isn’t working,” Hoseok sighs, fanning himself with his shirt. “They’re kicking our asses.”
“Maybe - and just hear me out - yelling isn’t the way to motivate us?” Jimin suggests, tossing his sweat-soaked hair out of his face. You can practically see little hearts dancing in Taehyung’s eyes as he watches the motion.
Hoseok’s head twists towards his friend, but instead of swearing at him like you expect, he just stares. “I’m. I’m doing it again, aren’t I?”
Jimin claps him lightly on the shoulder. “Yep.”
Hoseok stares for a few more seconds, and you’re on the verge of asking if he’s okay when he finally speaks. “Okay, new plan. Let’s just go out there and, ugh, have fun, okay?” His smile doesn’t quite reach his eyes as he leads Jimin and Taehyung back out onto the court.
Seokjin leans over. “If we lose, ten bucks says he snaps and eats that whistle himself.”
You laugh, gently pushing Seokjin back onto the court.
“Hey. Should we try that shield thing again?”
“Yeah,” you nod. “I mean, I was trying last round, but you were kinda all over the place.”
“I’ll try to be more obvious with my moves. Or I guess you can guide me? Just tell me which way to go.”
You nod, and then you’re off, running for the center line as the round starts. Without Hoseok barking orders at the group, there’s a definite shift in the atmosphere. As you stoop to sweep up a ball, quickly diving behind Seokjin’s tall frame, scoping out your next target, it hits you - not a ball, but a thought.
You’re having fun.
Grinning wildly, you hiss “Left!” Seokjin immediately darts left, and you line up behind him, ready and waiting. A throw from the other team goes high, and Seokjin leaps towards it, snagging the ball out of the air. As soon as you peek out from around his side, you hit Wooshik, ball bouncing off his thigh with a satisfyingly loud “thock!”
“Yes!” Seokjin throws his hand out for a high five. You slap it quickly, ducking another toss. On your other side, Hoseok and Jimin make tandem catches, and the match ends with your team victorious.
“That was so much better! I really feel like we’re an actual team now,” Hoseok beams, looking genuinely happy again. “One more week of practice and then it’s match time!”
The others drift towards the locker rooms as Seokjin nudges you with his hip. “Did that work better for you this time?”
“Yeah, it did. I guess that’s how it should always work, huh - me giving you orders and you following them blindly?” You wrap your towel around your neck, flashing him a cheeky grin.
Seokjin laughs, running his hand through his fluffy hair, which has gotten curly in the humidity from the game. Rather than spout off a snarky retort, he tugs on the ends of your towel, pulling you towards him. His deep brown eyes trail over your face, landing on your mouth, before his gaze snaps back to yours.
“That works for me,” he murmurs, soft smile playing on his plush lips. “Just say the word and I’ll follow.”
And then he walks away.
You stare at the locker room doorway that he disappears into for a good minute after he’s gone, mind racing. That’s not the first time the two of you have been that close - both Seokjin and his brother are very cuddly people, and you’ve always been comfortable with showing them affection in the form of warm hugs or snuggles on the couch.
But whatever just happened was not that. The moment between you felt charged. Full of something like… possibility.
With a sigh, you shake off the confusing thoughts and gather your things to head for the locker room, desperately needing a shower. And a drink.

They Reject You (Hyung Line)- Part One
Pairing: BTS x Reader
Warnings: small mentions of alcohol, there might be curse words here and there.
Genre: angst (but it's not that bad, i think?)

Jin
"That's cute," Jin quips.
"Huh?" You say in a questioning tone. Not understanding what exactly he is commenting on.
"The guy preparing dishes for the girl, even though he sucks like really bad at it." He replies with an amused smirk playing on his lips.
Your eyes drift back to the screen for a brief moment to see the said guy now mistaking sugar for salt.
"I mean, dude is trying, so yeah, it is cute," you agree with a nod and take another scoop out of your ice cream tub.
"If only he had my cooking skills." He boasts, leaning back slightly as his smirk turns cocky.
"You went from complimenting the lead guy to complimenting yourself, real quick." You quirk a brow at him, letting him know that you totally intend on calling him out.
"Does that surprise you?" He ask, quirking a brow of his own, in return.
A soft smile appears on your lips. "Considering that it's you, no, it really doesn't."
He nods at you to agree with your words. "Hey, but it's true though. I am a great cook and my girl would be really lucky to have me as her man."
Something about the phrase my girl rubs you off in the wrong way. Maybe it's because when he speaks it like that, your brain comes up with the image of someone faceless being all coupley with him. But that's the thing, you don't want that person to be faceless, you want it to be you.
"So you'll cook for your girlfriend?" You ask trying to keep your tone playful to hide the way your stomach is currently churning.
He looks at you as if you have asked the most ridiculous question and as if the answer to that question should be obvious. "Duh, that's like one of my top date ideas. To cook for the girl I love and wooing her with my skills."
You hum in response.
Does he ever think of you that way? Is the person faceless to him as well? Or does he have someone he likes already?
"Jin," you call out, not thinking straight and acting solely on the emotions that are coursing through your veins. Perhaps, you have had enough of bottling up these feelings and of not having a clue where you stand.
He responds with a hum before glancing away from the screen to look at you.
"I have feelings for you."
For a few moments there's only silence except for the noises from the TV and in those few moments you keep your eyes locked with his, simply because you're far too anxious to move even in the slightest. Plus, having your eyes on him allows you to notice every emotion that plays on his face.
But the longer the silence stretches, the more your heart sinks.
If you were to go by his reaction, or lack thereof, you know, that whatever words he's about to speak, will only break your heart.
Jin closes and opens his mouth a few times, searching for a reply. He just wants to say something, anything that will break this awkward silence.
"You can just be honest with me, you know?" You say, adding a light chuckle at the end, in hopes that it will make him feel comfortable enough to spit out whatever it is that he wants to say.
Thankfully, it seems to give him enough courage.
"I just, haven't ever thought about us like that and your confession caught me extremely off guard." Jin sighs. "But I'm glad you confessed, I can imagine how tiring it can get to keep your feelings to yourself. I just hope now you feel a little lighter and I really don't know what's the app–"
He is cut off by a something small hitting him right across the face. When he realises that it's a popcorn and that it's you, who has aimed it at him, he stops his rambling and looks at you with a confused frown.
"You don't have to ramble so much," you snort.
"I just don't know what to say," Jin for some reason looks disappointed with himself. "Just give me sometime?"
You shrug, pretending to be totally unbothered. "Don't worry about it. Take all the time you need."
With that you turn back towards the tv screen, and rewind the movie a little bit because you have no idea how the plot progressed in the last ten minutes. Jin takes the hint that this conversation is over, at least, for now and resumes watching the movie.
However, you can feel his eyes swiftly move to your face every now and then, just to make sure you're okay.
Any other time, you'd have appreciated it and cooed at how sweet and caring he is, but right now, you honestly hate it.
Because even though he didn't directly say it, you understood what he meant. He does not know how to turn you down.
You understood it the moment he said that that he has never thought about the two of you like 'that'. As someone who knows what falling in love feels like, you know, picturing yourself with the person you want, is something that happens automatically. It's just a part of the process.
But it never occurred to him that way because he never really found himself falling for you.
So for the next twenty minutes, you pretend to be slowly falling asleep to avoid any sort of interactions with the man sitting a few feet away.
Min Yoongi:
"You're late," that's the first thing Yoongi says when you take your seat. Rightly so, you think. Afterall, you're half an hour late and had it not been for your text you're pretty sure Yoongi would have left by now.
"I'm sorry, there was too much traffic," you lie hoping he buys it.
He nods but a part of you thinks he doesn't completely believe it, yet chooses not to question your words.
Instead he hands over the menu to you. "What would you like to order?"
"I will just have the usual, I guess," you reply not bothering to skim through the menu.
"Well then," he dings the bell, notifying the waiter that you both are ready to order.
Once the waiter has noted down both of your orders and is gone, you find yourself glancing around awkwardly to avoid his eyes.
"How was your Sunday?" His deep voice greets your ears and you mentally curse out loud.
"It was just another Sunday," you shrug, not bothering to keep up the conversation because honestly, you're scared as fuck to exceute your plan.
Okay, that sounded very spy like but it's not that serious.
Your plan is to confess to Yoongi.
Yoongi is the man you're engaged to.
The man you're engaged to because getting married to him, would be extremely beneficial to both of your father's companies. The man with whom you have gone on ten dates so far, because although, arranged, you two should get the oppurtunity to get to know each other before marriage. The man for whom you've found yourself falling, just after the third date.
When you put it like that, it does sound as intense as being a spy. Because even though the two of you have been on dates and are about to get married, Yoongi isn't someone who's emotions can be read very easily.
You don't even know if he enjoys your company or agrees to go on the dates with you just because he feels like he has to. He doesn't make you feel unwanted but that doesn't mean you feel particularly wanted either. It's somewhere in between. Which is confusing as fuck, to be honest.
But it's not like all that matters. You both are getting married eitherways, so the bare minimum you can do is to be honest about your feelings for him. That way, you'd let him know where you stand in this arrangement.
You have told yourself that just because you found yourself falling for him this quick doesn't mean he'll too. If his current feelings for you, turns out to be platonic, you'll be okay with it. But that doesn't mean that a part of you does not hope for him to reciprocate your feelings.
And it's because of your 'plan' to confess, that you were late by half an hour. You just kept pacing in your office and lost track of time.
But now that you're here sitting infront of him, and staring at him, you realise that there's no point in stalling.
"Actually, I realised something this Sunday," you say.
He quirks a brow that lets you know that you've got his attention. "What that realisation might be?"
You sigh, feeling your nerves take over. "That if we're going to get married, we should be honest with each other."
His curious expression turns into that of a confused frown. "What do you mean?"
You chew on your lower lip before taking a deep breath in hopes that it will provide you with the courage you need to just let the words out. "I like you."
Yoongi's face remains neutral but you don't miss the glimpse of surprise that flashes through his eyes. That surprise is enough to tell you that he wasn't expecting that.
He remains silent for a few moments and you let him be. Before he can speak, the waiter comes with the food which breaks the tense atmosphere.
Thanking him, you take your portion of chicken on your plate, when Yoongi starts speaking.
"Thanks for being honest with me," he says it softly and in a tone that lets you know that he means it. It also lets you know that there is a but coming. "But I guess I have been too stuck in my head to let myself relax and feel anything."
There we go.
You know you said that you'd be okay with him turning you down but now you don't feel okay at all.
It hurts.
But you guess, you should have seen it coming.
It doesn't help that from the very moment, you realised your feelings for Yoongi, your brain had been imagining you two being happily married and being in love with each other. Basically living with each other like any other couple who marry in normal circumstances.
Your hurt must have been visible on your face because as soon as Yoongi notices the effect his words have, he starts fumbling with his words.
"Look-What I mean to say–"
You chuckle, albeit a fake one, to put him at ease. "You don't have to explain yourself, it's okay."
Yoongi looks unsure but figures he doesn't know what else to say. Which is why he ends up asking, "are you sure?"
You nod and give him smile, hoping to reassure him.
As you look back at your plate, you find yourself wondering what this marriage is going to be like. It's not exactly loveless, but then that love isn't reciprocated. You find yourself panicking extremely, when you think of the both of you living together.
Fuck, what's worse is now he's aware of what you feel for him. You two would pretend to be happily married to the rest of the world and be awkward when away from the public eye.
What the fuck have you gotten yourself into.
Hoseok:
It's weird now that you have confessed to Hoseok, your dance teacher.
You know when the term "teacher" is used in a sentence like that, people usually frown. But you'd come to your defense and say, that there's nothing frown-worthy here.
You're twenty two and he's twenty six, both adults and belong to the age group where you both can make your own decisions. Plus, it isn't the usual teacher-student scenario here. Although, you and Hoseok started off with him being your teacher, gradually the two of you became friends.
Hence, it's fair to say he isn't just your teacher.
It's when you started to get to know him outside of the four walls of your classroom, that you started to fall for him. How could you not? He's a literal sunshine. A person who can light up anyone's mood and someone who's presence feels so warm and bright.
You've honestly, never met someone like him before.
You think he should have seen your confession coming but the surprised Pikachu face he made upon your decaration of love, told you that he clearly did not anticipate that.
The whole confessing thing went fine. You were scared, yes, but you did it. What isn't fine, however, is how he is yet to give you an answer.
But it was you who had asked him to take as much time as he needed and to not feel pressured. But after seven long days, you're getting antsy.
Which is why, once the class is over, you linger until everyone else is gone. Once you notice that there's no one else and just you and Hoseok, you head towards him.
You tap on his shoulders to make him aware of your presence.
He turns around and upon noticing that it's you, he gives you one of your sunshine smiles. "Hello."
"Hey," you return his smile and greet him back. "If you don't mind, can I talk to you about something?"
He nods without missing a beat and you honestly love how this isn't awkward at all. Although, by the look in his eyes, you think he has some idea what you want to say. "Did you think about what I said last week?"
Hoseok gives you a nod again, and this time his smile turns apologetic. "Yes I did and I'm so sorry for not reaching out to you any sooner."
You wave your hand in the hair dismissing his words. "Don't apologise, it's obvious that you'd need your time to gain some clarity."
"Thank you so much for being so understanding." He feels relieved to hear your words but sighs when he realises what he will have to do. "But I think I'd rather us be friends, I'm sorry."
Ouch.
You chuckle. "Again, there's nothing you have to apologise about. Thanks for letting me know."
With that you give a tiny little wave and head for the door.
"Wait, you're leaving?" He queries, not expecting you to just leave.
You smile at his question. "Although I'm like totally cool, I still need some time away to let it sink in that the guy I have been crushing on for months, just turned me down."
Hoseok feels bad when you put it like that but he knows you're right. "I get that, I'm sorry–"
"Stop apologising, will you?" You say in a light tone letting him know that there's nothing that he should be worried about and that you're definitely not upset about his rejection. When you notice that his expression has softened, you offer him one last smile before heading out.
When the warm air greets you outside, you feel a bit of melancholy. It's just your mind that wonders how beautiful it would have been had you got the opportunity to call Hoseok, yours. How lucky would you have been had you got to see the side of Hoseok that he reserves only for the special someone. How you could have easily fallen in love with him and would have cherished him.
But alas, you don't think that you'll get the chance to do any of the above.
You just hope whoever, gets to do those things with him, they cherish him and treat him right.
Namjoon:
"I have feelings for you," you slurr, the evidence of alcohol heavily present in both your breath and words.
Namjoon, the person your words are directed at, completely freezes. He blinks a few times for you to say something like sike! gotcha but when you don't, he lets out a nervous chuckle. "You're drunk, you probably don't even know what you're saying."
"Just say that you don't feel the same. Don't try to educate me about whether I'm drunk or not," you whine in complaint. "I anyway saw you making out with that girl a few minutes ago."
Namjoon's expression changes when he realises that although you're saying this in your drunken state, you very well know what you're talking about. Were you really confessing to him? Right now? At your brother's birthday party?
"Hey, c'mon we can talk about this later." He says trying to keep his voice gentle so that he doesn't sound as panicked as he feels.
"No, I need you to say it to me." You reply, voice as firm as it can be in your drunk state. "I need you to say that you don't feel the same. That would help me get over you."
At the end of it, you end up looking like a child throwing tantrum with a pout and a sad yet annoyed frown on your face.
Any other time Namjoon would have cooed at the sight but right now he's too concerned about not making a scene and gain unnecessary attention.
His eyes do a quick scan of his surrounding and when he makes sure that so far the two of you have managed to not draw attention, his eyes drift back towards you and he speaks in a hurried, hushed tone. "I don't think this is the right time to talk about this. Especially not in a room full of people."
"You're deflecting from the topic," you huff and cross your arms. "There's nothing too difficult about rejecting my confession. Just say so and we will be done."
"Can we do this later–"
"No we can't," you cut him off and stomp your feet in anger. "You don't know how much it hurts everytime you treat me as just your best friend's little sister. I know you'd never see me like that but seeing you make out with someone else was a whole different level of hurt."
Namjoon's features soften when he notices that now your features have turned that into of heartbreak.
"I understand what you're trying to say," he says his eyes now on the floor. "But still, I think that this is a conversation that should be saved for later."
You get closer to him, your eyes visibly fuming with how he refuses to take your words seriously.
"You tell me that you don't feel the same, right to my face or I'm not moving an inch from here." You grit the words through your teeth.
Namjoon sighs and you're standing so close to him, that you feel his breath hit your face. "Is that what you want?"
"Yes," you reply without missing a beat with your eyes fixed on him, refusing to move an inch. It's your drunk mind's attempt at registering everything so that you don't forget it when you wake up tomorrow. You need to remember this so that you can put a stop to this one sided pining for once and for all.
"Well then, I don't feel the same." He whispers the words so slowly and so gently, that had it not been for your undivided attention, you'd have missed it.
But you don't.
The words have you flinching even though this is very much what you had asked for. You take a few steps back and nod at him, letting him know that you're satisfied with his answer.
You don't look up at him as you leave the hall and ultimately, the party. You think you hear a voice calling your name and you think it might just be Namjoon's but you don't turn around to confirm your suspicions.
Right now, your utmost priority is to reach your apartment and let things sink in.
